Acid Wash Pics and Color Suggestions Needed!

Ok, since i figured out that the aurora anno is pretty much outta the question im gonna get my mag acid washed. Does anyone have any pics of acid washed guns? I would also like suggestions on color combos for the acid wash.

Light green / light blue acid wash. Done by XPB.
The cheapest acid wash would be atmf at $130 and close to two week turnaround. Probably closer to a month but not over.

Getting my Viking very soon and thats in a green / black acid wash.
Lots of red/black washes and some clear washes like blue / silver.

I suggest 2 colors that dont clash with each other. Soemthing dark, like red/black, orange/black, blue/black. Most bright colors dont mix very well with each other and make your gun look ugly. Try a pink/black, because pink is the new thing now, and i have yet to see a pink/black acidwash.

Thats what i was thinkin, i got them of max anno and they do sponge so i thought thats what they were but i figured id ask in case they werent. Those dont look that bad, unless i can get more pics of acid washed guns i may get a sponge anno.

ok forgive me for my ignorance but anno and acid wash is a little new to me..can you acid was and fade given the right color combos???

Hey Enemy, yeah i think you could fade and acid wash at the same time but it would prob cost quite a bit and the colors would have to be carefully chosen.

For acid wash:
I belive the parts are anodized, then dyed in the darker base color, usually black. Then a mild bleaching solution is applied, probably by hand, to wash out areas of the base color. Then the parts are dunked in the second color. Since there is two dunks on all the pieces there can be some bleeding/leaching of colors. Sometimes its good, sometimes its bad. Depending on the colors used.
My blue/green acid wash had shades of green/blue and lots of aqua. Which I wanted. Now if you did pink and blue the shades would look like crud most likely. Hmm, gets me thinking, I've seen orange/black acid washes and gold/black acid washes. Pink/black might be interesting....or a train wreck.

For a fade the pieces are dipped in only one color for the most part. Only the actual fade gets double dipped.

Black/Red acid is cool lookin but it is way overdone. Even with silver splash itd still look lik to many other black/red acid washes out there. Hopfully this anno will come out nicely when its done.

Nice, i dont see many silver combo acid washs out there and it seems like they would look great. Personally i think the black acid wash combo is way overdone. Make sure ya post pics of your gun when ya get it.

Red/black is always going to be my favorite color combo. It may be overplayed sometimes, but I just LOVE red with black. I must say though... blue to ocean green DUST fade is GORGEOUS! :eek:
