yeah it would. also orange annod guns IMO where some of the best looking

08-22-2004, 02:09 PM
What the hell? That's one of the most retarded things that I've ever heard. Why couldnt they make the paint yellow instead? Yellow guns arent as common.
I think orange guns are tight as hell :(

08-22-2004, 02:11 PM
well like it said they already banned orange and pink jerseys a while ago(1or2yr ago) to just finishing what they should have stated in the begining.

looks like the pink gun revolution is going down. :D

08-22-2004, 02:11 PM
Well if they are banning orange they might as well ban blue, pink, white and yellow markers and equipment. (I'm assuming it was banned because of paint fill colors)

NPPL comes up with some serious wacked up rules.

i played in an NPPL tourney a while back. i run out to the field in shorts. the ref looked at me like 4 times, but just before the game started, he tells me to go change.
i said, "what?!".
he said, 'you can't wear shorts on the field' i then had to change with about a minute before the game started.

a teammate also got warned about having stickers on his halo.

and this gear and gun thing. i mean honestly...we're gonna end up going to the field naked and using slingshots if this keeps up

08-22-2004, 02:16 PM
You wore shorts to an nppl tourney? Wow, the last local tourney I played didn't allow shorts. It seems like when the nppl directors get bored they make up some rules.

fire1811
08-22-2004, 02:17 PM
its always been a rule you cant wear shorts that should have been no surprise. i wouldnt complain they could have just waited for the game to start and then pulled you.

i dont know i think most of the rules they have made will make it a better game. less cheating, easier on the refs.

new rules suck but......

-Tab
08-22-2004, 02:21 PM
well, i knew some of the rules, but i guess the short rule must have slipped my mind.

i was wearing some kneepads. about %99 of my legs were covered

oh yaa....i got pulled off the break anyway

I don't get it. I think the no orange rules make sense. It helps the refs do their job. Banning pink and orange makes sense. The reason why you won't have problems with blue, white and yellow is because NPPL paint is always orange and pink (they reserve those colors (no jerseys can be orange or pink).

yes it was banned because of paint fill colors, but blue and white are more common colors then orange and pink....and they only use pink and orange fill paint, so what you just posted is honestly one of the more immature things i have ever read...

and its not like its a huge deal to these players...all they have to do is tell there sponsers and they will send them new colored markers....most of all these players don't ever pay for equipment....

if paintball was to be put into the olymipics it would be much worse then this...rules are made for fair play...would you want to be playing a team wearing the same color as the paint??what if you hit someone and the ref doesn't see it?what then the NPPL needs new refs?

didn't mean to flame but you have to realize that this isnt that big of a thing...

i really dont care what rules they make as long as it makes the game a little more fair to play and harder to cheat, im all for it.

08-22-2004, 02:49 PM
I hate the "no clear hopper" rule, but it is very hard to see white paint on a clear hopper.

ditto, if it discourages cheating and helps the refs do their job, i dont have a problem with it

But, if you can only use pink or orange paint then why ban the clear loaders. At least now I know why they did it.......

its that and if you have a pink paint in a clear hopper and the other team is shooting pink its hard to see a hit

That's kind of what I figured. Someone else told me something completely different.

so what you just posted is honestly one of the more immature things i have ever read...
How is what I said immature? I did not know nppl only used pink and orange. My point was that the refs should be watching enough to see the paint break and spray, and if the player calls a paintcheck the ref only needs to see the shell in a glance.

toymyster
08-22-2004, 04:03 PM
I'm surprised it took them this long!!! A while back I read they are reserving pink and orange colors for paint only!!!

I hate the "no clear hopper" rule, but it is very hard to see white paint on a clear hopper.

The reason for no clear hoppers is becuase a ref cant tell if the paint is broken inside, or outside the hopper.

at my field we use kickin paint in pink and white and lately a lot of people have been wearing pink and white jerseys so my field has banned them in tourney play. and they are in no way part of any league they are just a small mom and pop field

That is your fault, both those rules are clearly stated in the rule book. Hell the shorts rule is in place in every major tournament event. I do not know one that doesn't require long pants (down to the ankle) and long sleeve shirts (down to the wrists).

THis honestly isn't a big deal, but people make it out to be such a huge change. It doesn't affect the way you play at all. If it were a rule that hindered your playing ability, then it could be controversial, but this is so overrated.

well im glad i waited till the off season to send my gun in for anno, it was either gonna be pink or orange. lol. this should really piss off Badlandz PB from Canada, since thier Octane shockers come in burnt orange.

i also heard somewhere that pink markers are ok and its just orange ones that are banned.

also, for the guy who said "just get a diffrent color from your sponsors" how bout all the rookie/novice teams who might not have a sponsor to send them a brand new gun?

i guess they can douse there gun in Drano and make it stripped anno silver.

They should just make it so that you cant have pink stuff and use all pink paint so that my jersey wouldnt be illegal. That pisses me off that whenever they get bored they decide to come up with a new rule that makes me have to spend more money.

And pink! LOL! Pink markers should have been banned long ago for the simple reason they're fugly. ;)

Seriously, if people didn't cheat so freakin' much, most of these rules wouldn't be in existance. Maybe this will eventually inspire a little self-policing?

The irony is that we spend more time woring about what color equipment is rather than checking for things like ramping dwell and rapping bps. :headbang:

HUH! Have you ever reffed an nppl tourney? It has nothing to do with being bored! And it has everything to do with doing a better job! Do you know how difficult it is to distinguish a hit from a matching colored piece of equipment. Most of the time that is why the player is wearing the color- to cheat. It takes an extra second to look and see if that is a pink hit or a pink equipment. Games are happening so fast that the extra second can change the out come of the game. Refs get tired of being yelledat by both sides.

actually i think most people who are mad about this dont even play or ref NPPL.
I and im sure most will agree you have seen this problem in person.
Your standing on the sidelines saying to your buddies, LOOK that guys hit on the whatever. only to find out it wasnt a hit it was a design, hopper sticker, whatever.

i have no problem with this rule or so far any of the others NPPL has made.
suck if you have a pink or orange gun, but its for the best

my local field uses nppl rulz but i see the point in the new rule. their just trying to make the game more fair.

i got a red and black revvy does the clear hopper rule affect me.

KRAKMT

It violates the two different colored shell.
6.39 Loaders must be made of a solid color, and stickers on loaders or other feed devices
will not be allowed except for one 2” by 4” sticker on each side of the loaders or other
feeding devices in any color, excluding protected paint colors of pink & orange.

uh no. definatly not. I take offense to the fact that you think everyone get everything free. That is not the case.

Maybe youre thinking of pro teams. Pro teams some d1 teams and the very best d2 and d3 teams have full marker sponosrships. And, in most cases that still doesnt mean that you can get a free gun anytime you want. Most players work for their equipment.

Think about a d2 team thats struggling. Theyve got a paint sponsorship and apparal sponsorship. All this means is that apparel is cheap...not free. Guns are had at wholesale prices. But guess what....1200 bucks is still alot of money.

I guess the NPPLs banning those colors of guns is fair, it should help out reffing a bit. Im not sure when the rule takes effect. REally it should take effect in the off season as that would give players time to change their gear.

From another similar thread from a while back:

...because people decided to play the grey a little bit too far. A pic from WARPIG's tournament gallery (Joy Masters 2001) will serve to illustrate:

Hm. Those 397 hopper stickers wouldn't be there to camouflage paintball hits, would they?

That's what's up with that.

Unfortunately, rules have to be slightly more anal and piddling than the dinks who ignore the spirit of the rules and try to push the letter of the rules to the limit.

im glad they put rules in place to help make the game fair, but im still ticked that im gonna hafta buy a new set of Halo shells, since i'm prolly gonna play NPPL next season.

seriously if everyone stopped cheating we wouldnt have a problem, its awful, even at local tournies. My team always films our games and as one game was wrapping up one of our players bunkered a guy, put a shot square on his chest, bright pink fill, but unfortunatly that guy was at the 50 and by the time the ref got in the kid had wiped it off and our player got pulled instead. we have it on video.
