Thats her right there  .

For the past couple days, my cat has just been sitting in the same spot. No food, no water.. nothing. Its usually energetic but now it just seems tired. Its breathing really slow and it looks real pale around the nose area. The cat has lost alot of weight and i try to bring it food and water but it just looks at it... takes a lick.. stop.. and gives up. Like it doesnt want to eat or drink anymore... im worried...

I dont know any vets around here or the cost to take my cat there. So please... someone help me...

How old is the cat? Have you checked its feces' for worms? If not I suggest you do.

Look up your yellow pages for local vets. If you want your cat to live, I suggest you take it to the vet. It shouldnt cost too much for a check up, only about $30 or so, but I think you cats life is worth it, dont you?

Check for worms.

make sure they check it for leukemia, the symptoms sound like its something really serious and cats are prone to it

I hate to say it but your cat has all the signs of feline leukemia. Has it ever been vaccinated for it?

If not, I'm sorry but there isn't anything that can be done. I've lost a number of strays I took in to it.

my cat had the same problems and we had to put it to sleep :(
but it was due to very old age.

just hit the vet up thats what they are there for.

good luck

Yea dude get her looked at, it's either renal failure or she's anemic for some reason. But you need to get some bloodwork and xrays done.

hate to say it but a cat i had a few years ago did the same thing then it ...died :( im sorry

could be dehydration. cats can get so thirsty that they simply decide it's not worth drinking anything.

The problem is, dehydration doesn't happen on it's own. the real question is "why".

In my own cat, it's due to liver failure. After a couple of weeks of fluid injections (til he got strong enough to insist we stop in no uncertain terms), and special food, my cat's lived about a year longer then we expected, and he's still going as strong as a 17 year old cat can.

However, it might be something much more traumatic and PAINFUL, like leukemia.

Take your cat to a vet. You might need to put him down, or he might live another 5 years, but if you don't take him to the vet he WILL DIE, and he will die PAINFULLY.

If you love him, take care of him.

Find a bleeping vet :cuss: or call an actual doctor! Ask him if he can help you, he just might because a cats body is simulare to a humand in certain reguards.! My cat is pretty old and will once in a blue moon act like this, usually once o twice in the entire year.

OMG what are you still doing here  :cuss: Get to a vet! I'ed drive for hours, even a entire day to get my cat to a vet! Once my cat got sick and we took it to the vet that second (it couldn't keep its balance without stumbling).

OMG you still here? Go! ;)

I'll take it to the vet tomorrow.

This happened on the first smog the air day... then 2 more smog the hair day happened right after that, so maybe its dehydration... who knows.. vet tomorrow! Also, it has alot of that gooey eye poop. It looks like its breathing normally, not hot, etc...

a quick/cheap way to try to get some fluids into a cat

1: get some chicken wings/necks (cheap parts, but no organ meats due to contamination that can cause problems with bad kidneys)

2: put in big pot, cover with cold water

3: bring to boil, cut back to simmer

4: wait 20 minutes

5: cool to "warm", and serve broth to cat.

it worked sometimes for mine when he didn't want to drink water...

This bring backs sad memories. I had a cata few years ago that had most of the symptons you describe, except he did move a little. His kidney's were growing( or swelling or something), all they could do was put him to sleep. But now who knows what kind of medicene they have. I'm sorry if this may have made you angry or something. te best thing is to call the vet ASAp, a pet hospital would be your best bet.

Here's a list of vets in Cali (http://www.doggeek.com/vets/california.shtml) . There should be some ER's listed. Hope this helps. I had to bring a week old kitten that the mother neglected to a local vet. The mother did not want anything to do with her, she was the runt of the litter. She was the only kitten that did not have the same colored fur as the rest. Sadly, a few days later, I found her under the mother. There was nothing I could do. Her chest cavity was calapsed. All I could do was to displose of her properly.

I had a dog that did that, sat in the same spot and shook. Took it to the vet after a few hours and her kidneys were gone so she was put down :(

We had a cat that showed up once back in the day. He was tangled up in some wire in the barn so we got him out an he hung around ever since. Fiestly little bastard he was(would scratch the hell out of everybody but my godmother). He ws in the engie of the tuck one when we started it. Fir and blood everywhere, we thought he was gone, but a week later he showed back up... anyway, not to get ff track, he got sick(I forget what h simptms were, similar to yours iirc) so we took him to the vet and his kidneys had shut down or something so we had him put to sleep.

Now I've got a calico-ish cat that showed up around thanksgiving. She was laying under a ceder tree when I went outside so I gave her some sausage and shes been around ever since.

What if your cat dies by tomorrow? Take it to an ER vet, they never close. I'll pitch in $20 if you can save it.

I took it to the vet and they didnt find anything serious. They said it just might have a fever and gave me some drops to give her 2 times a day. If it doesnt work and shes still sick after a couple days, i'll bring it back to get some xrays or whatever is needed.

Now i bring it water and food everyday and carry it to the litterbox. Last week she was sitting on my table trying to catch my mouse pointer on my moniter...

my cat had similar symtoms to yours, except she was vomiting alot. Took her to the vet the very next day and it turns out she had extreme dihydration and a fever. After some fluid injections/meds and a day or so of rest she was back to her old self.

if she's still not improving after a day or so take her back.
Good luck dude

See how much better it is to take an animal to an actual vet, instead of asking advice from a paintball forum?

t33kyboy
09-16-2004, 09:31 PM
The vet said it would get better by itself and offered me the drops to help speed it up.
You guys scared me when you said all your cats died... so i took it to the vet expecting i would have to put it to sleep right there...

when a pet is sick dont hesitate to take it to the vet....if my dog got sick or started acting different taht would be the first thing i would do...not post on a forum about "my dog is sick...give me your home cures"
