I have decided to reanno my baby blue Xmag, but i just can decide on a color scheme. I like fades, i like both dust and gloss, and i also like solid with contrasting parts. I want something atleast semi unique too.

I have been toying around with doing a storm trooper design like you've seen on the vikings
http://www.flagpull.com/AKA/patchviking.jpg

however, i have been thinking about some form of blue fade (even though its been done a thousand times) like this
http://www.flagpull.com/AKA/zbVik9.JPG

but one other idea is similar to the storm trooper, but instead of dust white, do gloss graphite, but still with the black contrasting pieces (HES cover, hybrid switch, fireblade trigger, grip panels, Xvalve, detent, and i have the CCM mod done by rrfireblade)

also, what places do you guys recomend for anoing? and does anyone know if the field strip screw can be anoed?

i cant decide, help me choose!! and if you have pics of examples even if they aren't mags that would be great

since you have an x-mag i'll suggest my master plan of havin an ice blue (valve end) to white/clear dust fade towards the barrel, kinda like the white-blue-black on the orracle's but without the black

Either Red/Black Acid wash or red to black dust fade

What about a Graphite to Grey/Pewter fade? Those are hawt.

Now the biggest decision with an X-Mag is to decide what finish to do. A Dust finish is probably the hottest looking finish, I think. However, a Gloss finish on an X-Mag looks absolutely amazing. It just seems to flow oh so nicely.

And make sure you get the Trigger anodized too, Kev. There's nothing worse than a Trigger that doesn't match your marker. :nono:

Will this be ready for AO-Mid-Atlantic? I hope so. :)

i do like that red acid wash though

Yeah, like that but a little lighter. That's a Dark Grey to Black fade. I like it, but I think a Graphite to Pewter Fade would be so much nicer. And now that I picture it in my head, with a Gloss Finish. Yeah.... Sexy.

Kev, if you have the money now M.A.X. could do it and get it back to you before AO-Mid-Atlantic. They're fast Anodizers, let me tell you. heh

I don't know if it is just the viking that makes this fade look good, but i think it would look pretty good on an x-mag too.

Good choice. I would have done a Stormtrooper Ano too but I just threw out two more great suggestions. :)

You seem to like these Vikings a lot. Why don't you just buy one and sell me your X-Mag? Afterall, 13 IS my lucky number. ;)

wow, those vikings are pretty bad, as in not good

You want to be the next agg, mark my words, fushia is going to be the in thing. neon green, blaze orange......

I'm always partial to a dark m3 silver

the white/ dust clear will be tough on the xmag, 7075 tends to take on a bronzish color after anodizing,

BANSHEE- Where did you get that picture of the red/black dust fade X? My X seems to have virtually exact matching Ano- I wonder if it is my gun? It is the correct color, ano pattern, barrel style, and comes with a warp breech just like mine. Happen to have a pic that shows the serial number? I also bought the marker from a guy who is not too far from NYC, which isnt far from NJ...anything is possible I guess. It is a "last batch" gun, so it is the newest of the USA X's.

Here is a better picture of the color combo...

GOVNAMAC- Yours and mine are the only confirmed ones I know of. The one in the pic above may either be mine or yours, also possibly the third I have heard of, but the guy may be full of it who told me he had it...dont know. Kinda cool how ours were both in the last batch, only 13 numbers apart. Seeing as they were the STD X-Valves, that most likely means yours and mine were built one after the other- same ano to boot.

All I know is I love the combo, and everyone else does too.

I got the pic from the last X-mag batch pic thread earlier in the year. It's still at AGD in that pic :)

Storm trooper, no question.

yeah but according to magmonkey it likely wont turn out right because of the type of aluminum used for the x's :(
