Anyone ever had problems shooting after lining the inside of the barrel with WD-40 aside from the first couple of rounds fired?

Whenever you re-lube a marker you're supposed to take the barrel off... so when you dry fire, the oil stays OUT of the barrel. Adding WD-40 would defeat this purpose. Besides, WD-40 and o-rings don't play nice together so it shouldn't be near your gun in the first place. Same goes for 3 in 1 oil.

3-in-1 oil works fine with orings.

3 in 1 oil is actually the recomended lubricant for autocockers from wgp. sewing machine oil is the same thing, as is any high quality turbine oil.

Don't use WD-40 in the barrel. It leaves an oily film. If you want to help keep the barrel shiney and smooth, wash with hot water. Then spray a bit of silicon spray and let sit for a moment. Now run a polish cloth down the barrel. The inside will be silky smooth and broken paint residue will shoot out much better.

WD-40 isn't a lube, it's intended for Water Displacement: spray it on bare steel after it gets wet to prevent rust. Why would you use it in the barrel, though?

Nitrile Orings work great with petroleum products.

I just reviewed a manual I had where the gun manufactured DID recommend the use of 3 in 1 Oil, vasoline, or sewing machine oil to properly lubercate thier marker... :(

Oh wait, that manual was for the P.O.S. Psychoballistics Cocker I bought off Ebay for $180 shipped. :spit_take

any synthentic oil, like 3-in-1 oil or sewing machine oil will be fine for o-rings. what you want to ovoid is petrolium products and penetrating oil. these eat o-rings for breafast

do yourself a favor, keep the WD-40 far away from your gun. it's a solvent based penetrating oil. oh yeah and it stinks.

if you want your barrel slick and clean, wash it with soap and water. you can put rain X on it, or claen it with plexus, or barrel cleaner, but I like plain old soap and water.

oil will just stick to the balls as they come out and make them curve balls.

H*LL Yeah keep the WD-40 away from your barrel, If you want a slick surface in the barrel try Rain-X the stuff for your windshield apply it on a piece of cloth and run it through with a sqeegee and let it set for a minute or so and then do it again and let sit a minute or so and then using a clean dry piece of cloth run it through and make sure the inside comes shiney.. Then your barrel will act like a ceramic barrel and clean itself out after a cple shots... Reapply after a cple cases of paint........... :shooting:

If petrolium products are bad for o-rings (I'm not doubting you on this because I don't know), then why would Richie from WGP recommend putting vasiline on my 3-way (orings and all)?

KC Trouble Free for the gun
Rain X for the barrel
I agree with the KC Trouble free. It's the best oil out there. I've never tried the rain-x. It is an interesting idea though...............

KC is the only oil that will EVER go through my guns!

Here is a conversation I had with Kermode Concepts ( sorry for it's length):
Hi Elliott-
Years ago. Daisy made a really cheap semi-auto plastic Paintball gun. They
recommended ATF. ATF is made specifically to work well with automatic
transmissions, not guns. However, if you use SYNTHETIC ATF, your automatic
transmission will last 3 times longer. K-C oils are the only lubricants
that are engineered specifically for Paintball guns.

What do Paintball gun makers want you to do? Buy more of their guns when
your present one wears out. If they wanted your present gun to last
forever, they would supply K-C oil with it.

One AirgGun Designs tech. recently ordered several large bottles of my
synthetic oil from me, for use in their warranty repair department. I
asked him why they use my product in repairing their guns, and he said that
that helps to make sure that the repaired gun never comes back. I asked
him why they don't supply their new guns with my oil, and he told me the
exact words that I wrote in the above paragraph.

Thanks a lot for your support of our products with your field owner, but
don't waste too much of your time. I have been involved with Paintball
since 1986 and have not met very many intelligent field operators. Most of
them lose their businesses pretty quickly. However, you might refer your
guy to Joe Pommier. Joe owns and operates the Bear Creek Pursuit Paintball
field (www.bearcreekpaintball.com), and has been a writer for many
Paintball magazines since the '80s. And, of course, Joe uses K-C oil on
all of his personal and rental guns.
Best regards,
Dave Kermode

Vaseline is nasty stuff. Too thick. Good for wheel bearings not paintguns. :D

YES RAIN-X makes the inside of your barrel all slick and smooth. That way you can keep ripping if your pinned down and dont have time to swab....... My brother used it today and when he broke paint he shot 2 balls and was clean to keep shootin....
