I tried to do it, but my sucky skills messed it up. Cars usually don't look good in flat colors, they always look like they've been spray painted.

flat black is cheaper :D

although i'm pretty sure i get my paints at a discount price.
I'm not a fan of purple, my friend did a hatchback stang in a metallic purple and it looked good

Dark purple is one of my favorite colors, I like orange alot too but it has to be broken up, it won't look good on that car. I think i'm against the flat black idea though. It doesn't look to bad the way it is in my opinion. Just add some NOS stickers and you're set.

Magic wand it, Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation.

You can mess around with the color without making it looked messed up, or just just drop the Saturation down all the way and make it that gray

He may have done it another way but its not hard.

Actually color replacement tool is even easier. Just use the color chooser, pick black, switch to color replacer (it's under healing brush) then right click on the pic to choose the replacement area size, and go at it.

The whole car took about a minute, with a majority of it being zoomed in and getting the last few spaces.

I have nothing to add to this thread except that i find Jeremizzle's sig image hilarious. I would get in trouble JUST to do that to a teacher.

This is just real quick, it's not really flat, and I missed some of the blue, but you get the idea...
