I'm getting stock classic mag and was wondering if it was necessary to get nitro or if a ani-siphon would be fine

HPA makes ANY marker better

You should run nitro on everything :) You should be rockin' nitro on ur PGP's, Delta's, and Phantoms's! ;)

Edit: Oh yeah, don't forgot ur Nelspot's!

HPA makes ANY marker better

WRONG!

However, HPA makes any automag better.

I just wanted to add that my classic mag ran fine on CO2 with a huge expansion. Just make sure to always have a parts kit handy, because the orings will wear out faster than with HPA. Of course, HPA is preferable, but sometimes that just isn't an option.

And when you get an HPA system your o-rings will last longer, cause the temp will stay uniform not like with CO2

I run co2 on my minimag with an ACI four stage with no problems

hpa makes the sun rise every morning. use it on your mag and be happy.

I have recently set up my classic mag with a Palmer Stabilizer and CO2 tank. I have encountered no problems so far (though the Stabilizer does get COLD during rapid fire), and my tank is plain normal with no an anti-siphon. I will readily agree however, that for the price of a stabilizer and CO2 tank, you could buy a low-end HPA system.

a low end HPA tank runs like 80-90 maybe you can find one used for less just make sure you get one thats high out put most are but its gonna take 700psi to run your mag so the low out put tanks wont work for you. yes you can run your mag on CO2 but its not the best

sure...the worst thing that can happen is that an oring blows, but you have your parts kit handy, right?

Let's see..........I've had my Mag for 5 years and only recently got HPA.............I think that you will be just fine. ;) One thing to watch out for is: if you are using the level 10 bolt you will get less shots from any tank and CO2 becomes almost worthless. At least that was my experience.

I recently got a mag. I'm wondering what pressure i should use. I have a nitro tank where i can adjust the pressure that it lets out. About what should I set it on? If it's too high can it cause leaks?

Also would like to hear any other suggestions you have.

Considering Z-man ran a 3000psi scuba tank directly into his mag, I don't believe your tank will go too high for the valve. Unless you're using a classic valve. I don't know about what they can take. As long as it's an RT style valve it should be able to handle whatever your tank can output. Just don't go under 650-700psi. Most people will suggest you stay at around 800psi.

Set it high, the valve in your mag has a reg built in. If you set the input too low, you will starve the marker for air. 800ish psi would be my recommendation.

I run my classic valve on CO2 with no problems. Without a reg, antisiphon tank, or decent expansion chamber. Never had it freeze on me, though I am running a single finger trigger. Max ROF I can get is about 6 shots per second.

Classic mags were designed for CO2 use. You will be fine with an anti-siphon tank.
I dont know why everyone is saying you shouldn't use a mag without nitrogen, but what do you think people ran in their mags in the pre-n2 days?
So yeah, an anti-siphon tank would be good.
Of corse he asked that question 3 months ago..
As for tank pressure, anywhere between 700-1000 psi is fine. 850 is what most preset output tanks are at.
