My guess is that the neighborhood is being ripped down for something and they got permission to play in it before it's leveled.

From what I have heard it is part of a military base that is getting torn down.

It is the same area that the prison games were at Fort Ord.

That would be my guess seeing that Spiro just got back from a game in CA with the same field owner as the prision field (which was shut down).

OK Cable I am sorry to say that having a scenario game a mere 20 minutes from my house on Fort Ord is going to take precidence of ANYTHING. I have officially declared this the "Zak goes to a scenario game" and demand that you (Cable and others whom I will PM) will stay at our house complete with your own rooms, a full service workshop and several dozen acres of land to enjoy when we are NOT at Fort Ord. After studying the photo I have to add my two cents.

The photo is most likely a housing project. No fences, sheds, or other man made objects. There are about 3 or 4 different house designs that are repeated. Most of the designs are duplexes with two small drive ways or one big drive way.

Have you ever lived in a housing project where the houses look like each other? You get confused and almost walk into somebody elses house and that is after you have lived there for a couple of weeks.

If this is going to be the site of a one time game then I'm predicting a lot of chaos. You will have a hard time figuring out where you are by looking at the houses around you. However, it still sounds like fun.

Wowie Zowie! First there was an alien invasion in a Louisiana Cornfield (Signs)... then games in an abandoned military prison (Tomorrow Never Dies & Blue Moon Rising). When it could get no better, along came the use of an entire island with boat insertions (Fantasy Island). Will it ever end? Evidently NOT YET...

A MOUT (Military Operations and Urbanized Terrain) facility would have been an awesome experience... but NO... BlackCat has to do it one better and gives you an entire neighborhood to play in. Oh yeah... this is some SERIOUS SCENARIO... BlackCat Style!! :wow:

This makes it 1 hours drive from San Jose if I have it correct. Major flight options are OAK, SFO, SJC.

Depending on things work, I may be in San Jose anyways....I hope those Clown guys show up....always wanted to shoot them.

Yep, that's the one of the old rotting enlisted family housing sections in Monterey, CA on the west side of Fort Ord, Hiway 1 (Pacific Coast Hiway) runs on the west border of that lot in he picture with the beach being only another 500 to 1000m (depending upon location) from the hiway.

These buildings have been abandoned for many many years and would be a blast to play paintball in. They're all single story dwellings, fairly close together. Chuck in a bunch of 50 gallon drums and a few old cars and you've got yourself a fun playing area.

Plan on wearing cool weather gear for the AM part of the scenario, the fog rolls in and it will be cold and wet, especially in Dec. The fog usually burns off by noon, so you'll be pealing it off as the day wears on.

Well, they have Worr as a paint sponsor, and they listed FPO in the pistol duels, so I'm guessing the entire event is FPO. I've been known to be wrong, from time to time...
