This seems like a really stupid question, but does anyone know how to take out an allen-head screw thats been over-tightened? I tried with my allen wrench, but can't budge it. I dont want to strip the screw, because it's in my rail. Any ideas?

Use a T-handle allen wrench. They work great and can exert much more force on the screw. ;)

Try heating whatever the screw is screwed into. That - along with a t-handle wrench (you beat me to it Tuna!)- will usually help break it loose.

if that doesn't work........go to sears and get a "screw out" its about $10 and will get jsut about any screw out...............it will of course destroy the screw, but you will need to replace it anyway.

just give it a little heat and get a ball-end t-handle allen

If it strips, use vice grips or dremel a line so you can use a flat head screw driver, both work great! Good luck
