View Full Version : Getting the air from the tank to the valve...

I got today a new gas thru foregrip and thus am tasked with having to figure out a way to get the air from my tank up to the valve. Not as simple as I'd first imagined. I've been using a piece of black macroline run straight from the on/off to the valve, easy as pie. Now, I have the aforementioned macro line as well as a piece of SS provided by cphilip (thanks again bud!) with the rest of the splash kit I purchased from him. With the setup I have now (shown below) I decided to run the SS from the valve to the grip, then the macro from the grip to the tank.

The SS sticks out a bit too far for my liking, and I feel like my left hand will rest too much on the macro when playing. How would you set up a marker with the equipment shown below? Should I replace the macro with another SS line? Get another DF that will make the bottom run easier(I run an 88ci tank so I like the long one I have now)? Any comments or suggestions would be more than welcome.

That's as good as it's gonna get....short of trying to cut down the macro and fit it shorter...
You could always buy shorter stainless hose.

Another idea is to flip the screw in adapter over to get the macro fitting on the other side. That's if the macro fitting on the grip isn't a swivel....

I guess it's not using your current stuff, but Get a 90 degree adapter for the stainless steel quick disconnect nipple.

Good ideas so far, thanks. The 90 degree up top is definitely the way to go. Everything on the bottom swivels, so getting the macro on the other side might get it away from my left hand. I'll play around a bit more. Thanks again.

i'd run the macro from the on off to the foregrip and cut it a little and the ss the other place

Ok I cut the macro down and rotated the on/off a bit. Looks much better now.

Ryan, Use the Macro up top. Then use a shorter SS line on the bottom with another 90 degree elbow. I will send you another elbow and a shorter SS line. I didn't know you were using a DZ II or I could have sent you the right thing from the get go. I got just the thing for it as that was my set up exactly! Do away with the quick connect in this set up I am sending you. You won't need it anyway as you are using a screw in tank as I can see now. You will be close clearance on the drop and the bottom of the gas through but by sliding the DZ II back or forward it will clear. I'll pop those fittings in the mail to you tommorow. It will fix you right up.

Awesome, you know you've got a good thing going when the mods for the official owner's group have just as good of CS and are just as generous as the company itself

Here is a picture of how to run it like I had it. You can barely make out the Macro on the top run (leave a bit of an upward bow in it btw) but a good look at the SS line at the bottom.

We aim to please! :)

Oh and when you send the body for Coating send him the on off nut too. Black.

Also I will send you two chrome elbows. Not perfect but look good and they are very usable. Got to lose that blue one! ;)

Actually I took the dremel to the blue one last night. Not perfectly square any more, but it's silver again.
