View Full Version : Paintball Mod For Half-Life 2 - LOOK!

I don't know if there is a paintball mod for half-life 2 yet or not, so i came up with this idea: The AO Community could make one! I've been mapping for 3 years now, and am very familiar with VHE (Valve Hammer Editor) the program used to make maps. Is there anyone out there that would like to help me out with this? The Project will need:

-Game Programmer
-Concept Artist
-Sound Artist
-3D Modeler
-Map Designer
-Mapper (ME! Hehe)
-BETA Testers

Of course, we can use as many people as needed, including additional mappers and modelers. Anyone out there with Maya, Milkshape 3D, VHE, or Photoshop experience?

I've got a little expeirence mapping with the Quake 3 engine. Assuming the tools are similar and readily available whenever the game comes out, I'm up for some mapping.

MiniSpdRcr - I need someone to make the textures for bunkers, grass, netting, etc.
Eagle - The Valve Hammer Editor is based off of the quake engine, it shouldn't be that hard for you to help make maps, u can even deisgn maps for me to make.

i lost my valve editor skills long time ago :D

i can help with sounds, ive been meaning to have a reason to get a new awsome mixer :cool:

and ill gladly beta test :rolleyes:

i think we can add a "development" team to help with ideas and such of the rather

if theres any need for photography, ill gladly lend my help as well (top of my photo class)

lol. it wouldn;t be quake engine editing, i would be editing the half-life 2 SDK if they ever produce one, if not, the whole mod will have to be modded from scracth =\

i do not know jack about half life or quake editing, but i can model guns-bunkers-etc. i am hoping half life 2 comes with an editor, or else this will never work. unless you can get a free programmer for this project. i think i will play greg hastings and mvp paintball when they come out :clap:

Well, I work for domino's. However I think most of you guys are a little out of range for delivery. I might help out with beta testing, but I never got around to being really good with computers. I got sidelined by learning to time cockers.

I have the means to design you a layout of a map, but I don't have the hardware at the moment to run 3D VIZ and build 3d models...

I worked with UnReal a bit last year.

thats why im saving the $80 to reserve it through steam... (actually im debating whether or not to pay the 80 for the bundle or just 40 for the game)

it will be a while till halflife 2 comes out , so you want to do a map for digital paintball in the mean time? i can help with the images (bunkers,whatnot) heres a 1 minute example

On the UT2004 engine. Just join their team and expedite the process.

There are no Mag models just yet, but an AOer would surely change that.

I have PhotoShop, and I'm fairly well versed in it. I've never skinned models before, but if you show me how, I'll help ya!

help with photoshop and designs would be cool as well.

a field will have tons of designs, and we will be free to make our own, so photo experiance would be useful.

i think itll get clearer as it progresses.

do you plan on joining the other modding team or continue with an "AO" mod?

actualy hl2 is done, it went gold last month, and is just awaiting packaging, marketing and shipping details. Should be next month in my experience with game releases.
