I want to buy a scuba tank to fill my own tanks. What do I need to know about the legal aspects of this as far as diver certification, and hydrotesting?

Also the tanks themselves, I just need a 80 cf 3000psi tank and a fill station right?

I believe you need a visual inspection once a year & hydro every three years. Most scuba shops will fill it as long as you state you're not using it for diving. You will usually have to sign a waver stating that fact. Other than that, the tank + fill station = ready to go air for you :)

Ive got a scuba tank and fill station and its worth the money. My scuba shop charges me $4 to fill the tank and it lasts for 10 or so fills of my HPA.

Also you can call around and find out if they will let you get them filled for paintball. I just signed a waver and get it filled.

The scuba tank itself runs about 100-120 and make sure its a 3000 psi model some are 2400.

Having a scuba tank is great for things like woods ball.. you can play anywhere.. just buy a couple boxes of balls and wala you're good to go.

I picked up my scuba tank from my friend for $80 because he moved, I also got a fill station for free so thats ~ $200 for $80. :headbang:

Definately worth the investment , so long as fills are easily accessible.

They are awesome for tooling at home. Great at events for just yourself , even better if a few friends get tanks too and you all cascade.
