Yea he is! And not only that for the first time ever we are combining supporting a good cause beyond the paintball community (not that we needed any reasons to get to gether but...) and we are going to Support Regulators Outpost and TAG who have supported us so well in the past. Its a "Win Win Win" for all of us. And a great place to go in Dalton. Also remember that Chattanooga is very close to this. I am suspecting a field trip may take place one night? :ninja:

I am broke from taking the trip up to ao mid atlantic day because I thought AO SE was cancelled for good. I have to see if my teammates want to make a road trip down to GA. Also, will the AO day be built into the charity event? Or will we have our own ariball-speedball-woods games going on seperatly? Or is this event just a scenario that AO will be taking part of? This is going to be a huge event already and we have plenty of space at the field 'bout 110 acres of playing area. This includes airball, ballwall, small woods fields, HUGE freakin woods fields and a scenario setup that is this ----------------------- big. It includes forts, towers and all kinds of other nifty areas of play.

Not to mention this event is being produced by 24hourgames ( http://www.24hourgames.com ) and they always have a top notch event. I cant speak for all the other vendors that will be at the event but we always give discounts to those that attend from AO. I know we have our own forum at TAG but this will always be our home.

Guys this is going to be a great event and a chance to meet some wonderful players from all over the country. Many people fly in for this event each year.....yea, cool huh ? ;)

As we go along we will offer more and more info....I hope to see everyone there.

I cant wait for this one, the AO days are always cool, and the TFT days are some of the biggest and funnest turnouts so many come out with their donations. i know that i'm DEFFINATELY going to be there. and how could i not, the field is litterally 5 minutes from home.

This is a worthy event (TFT specifically) and totally worth going to for both the charity and the field. Regulators Outpost is a great place. Many folks I run with regularly play there. It will be an awesome event.

Well actually TAG and I talked about this last fall at SEAO day II but there were already so many events around this time at Regulators it was concluded it would have to be "stapled" as you put it to happen there. And in the past regulators has come each and every time up here to Clemson. And even brought us a Airball field one year. So its was time for payback. So its all good I figure. We realized it would end up being stapled no matter what we wanted. And I don't really have any problem with that. I mean it increases exposure for AGD and AO to be noticed in a stapled event. And even had I had it in Clemson this year it was going to have to be stapled (or incorporated in some way) to something at the field I wanted. They also had a scenario planned around the dates I needed. So its an inevitability it will be sometimes. Maybe not every time if we can help it. But its also ALWAYS been a charity event here. For the Clemson Paintball club. So its not outside of our mission to also help some kids. However we are planning some seperate things for AO members. But in this area this time of the year sometimes it will just be the way it is. No ones trying to say its not. So I don't want to confuse anyone or mislead anyone. It is a marriage of things that worked out. Toms is going to be there and this gets our last meeting of the year a good place were he can kill two or three birds with one stone. Make sense. I didn't take what you said as griping. I do however want to speak to that slant on it. And I don't have any problem with anyone assuming that because its true in a way. And no ones trying to hide that nor do we have any reason to. Plain and simple we are tagging to a good event in a place we need to go and for good reasons. A logical thing to do.

Again I am seeing things like "canceled and such". There was never any event to cancel. No event was ever announced. People just assumed things. And if you want something done earlier... do it yourself! And trust me if you want to do it... I will gladdly and fully assist you. I mean that.

Glad you coming. Want to do some mini AO bike rally stuff around this? If I can I will drag my bike down.

I feel that was pretty well said. Given the history behind the situation it does make sense to do it at Regulators. It also make sense in a marketing and PR way to tie to a charity working towards such a great end. Helping kids is always wonderful. Can't hurt in the scenario market push to make a strong showing at such a big seasonal event either.

As far as the mini rally goes....

My Harley is down for the count for the moment. The last ride I went on , an unseen piece of metal in the road flipped up and cut my drive belt. Given the time of year , and the fact that I can use those repair funds towards the upcoming scenario season ( I only play woodsball/scenarios in cool weather), I am waiting until late winter to repair it.

For dinner we had 85 last year... Do I expect that many this years? I have no idea. Its one of the fun things about trying to do these. If he wants it might be best to do a Buffet.

I want to play witht he AOers no matter what though, so if they play I will play too. But I need to know if this scenario event is going to cost alot or if the toy donations will cover everything (field fee-byop fee-air fee). Can we byop? If so is there any liitations on what color or brands? Any other info about the AO events going on such as a mini 3 man tourney, airball games, or random wildness? I cannot remember the last question I wanted to ask.....oh well.....im getting too old. Thanks for any info phil, flame me if I asked a question that has already been answered.

can someone point me to the page where it says this side represents good, whiile this side represents evil. that way i have some kind of clue about the storyline of this event. i am a sissy little airballer who is afraid to get in the dirt, so I am not used to the storylines, branches of the "army", good vs evil, type of event. i need to prepare myself for whatever, whenever, however.

ok, so i know the good guy vs bad guy teams. now what is the story behind this event, because i have never played the c and c series either.

omg its GDI vs NOD!? oldschool C&C coming out!!. Basically the "NOD" are run by some crazy nazi bald dude who wants to blow up the world/rule it and the "GDI" are the world police (UN on steroids) who want to stop the blowing up/ruling. All the while there are people being turned into zombies by ever growing amounts of tiberium, which is a precious gem that you gather as your resource in the game. So thats basically how the game went and I am guessing they will toss in that stuff to the scenario. Sounds like fun to me in any case. Ah that brings back memories :cry:

Only thing is its about 7 and some hours to stay on 85 and curve back up after going through atlanta. Well I saw some roads that look like a decent shortcut but I'm not too sure if they are a good plan to take. Anyone who knows Georgian roads around dalton pretty well i would appreciate a PM!!! thx!

No. I-85 will not take you all the way to Dalton. Your going to have to get on I 75 North to get there. But you will do that in Atlanta. Best to take the 285 loop to connect to 75.

If you want a real pretty drive and have some time..... maybe an extra hour.... you can take Hwy 76 out of SC (starts at I-85 at the Clemson Anderson exit) and follow it into the Georgia Mountains and over and across. Lots of pretty views. Almost goes all the way into Dalton. It can be just as short depending on traffic in Atlanta. And well worth the drive.

If you don't want to hit the atl traffic my suggestion is this. . .

I-85 crossed hwy 20 if you take that exit and follow 20 all the way to 575
then take 575 south to exit 16a (which is like 2 exits or so from where you would be on 20) and follow 20 the rest of the way to 75 you end up on 75 at exit 290 and are about 45minutes from dalton and avoided all the traffic of ATL but it doesn't save you any time it just saves you the mileage and the headache of going thru atl. The field is between exit 326 & 328. Hope this helps.

Just so the rest of you know, and what I can remember.... This dude is an Air Force ground spotter dude. I don't know the title but I got the gist of it. Thats a dam dangerous position in that branch of the service. Almost a special forces type thing. A real scary position to be in. They are right there in a unit and they spot and call in the Air Strikes for the ground forces. A real American hero type thing to do. And we had some interesting banter at dinner. He has some very clear and vibrant views on Iraq and it's issues. I enjoyed very much the debate that ensued and hearing his take on it all. I ment to get back to talking with him later but mucho beer and he was involved with talking to Tom when it came around to do it. I regret not having spoken to him again. If he is on AO great. If he is not then we need him here.

It was great meeting all the awesome people at the AO event!! Everyone was more then friendly and I know we had a really good time. Trina and Doobie! it was so sweet grouping up with you two and pushing out those reds from the field (everyone else is lost now :ninja: ). words cant do it justice how much fun I had, and how much I hope everyone else had. Thanks to Joe (phantomhitman) for helping me out with the driving and I'm glad you got to shoot a devil mag! It was truly amazing meeting Tom and how just plain cool you are. Just listening to a conversation between you and Ed was a really interesting experience, and I hope to see you again to give you a chance for a re-match in Halo2! We had a decent enough room for the hang out, and some very understanding hotel staff. There was'nt near the turnout as last year so it was fine. No one caught on fire this year

Well this next pic has already been shown but the focus was lost somehow...maybe I got scared ;) the second was the follow through...the next pic in the sequence was really out of focus but imagine wreching and puking and you can get the idea...but then in defense when I tried the fireballs I couldn't do it as all I was doing was spitting not spraying...oh and the last pic although not taken at the event many of you would have seen Anna the Chiwawahua (I can't spell that name :( ) at the TAG tent so here is a pic of her at home enjoying one of my boots!

1st Tom the mad scientist taking a rest
2nd Tom presenting prizes.....and I WAS the furthest travelled, having swapped my ticket to be able to attend the event ;) so to the guy from NY I want my prize!!
3rd Tom leading the troops with his rendition of "In the Navy"
4th Cphil's ride...see he doesn't just ride those little scooters ;)
5th The table from another angle...see they knew a brit was taking the pic hence all the friendly "victory" signs..trust americans to get it backwards ;)

I love those pics, funny thing is he fell asleep at about 7 or so right after eating. He was busy all day playing at the scenario game with the other kids. I think he slept for about 13 hours total. Wish I could sleep like that lol. Thanks for the pics Mark. It was wonderful meeting you and well next time we are all at cup maybe you will catch the "action" at the other end of the table before its all over ;) :eek:
