OK I am looking for an artist to do a logo for out paintball team. Our team name is Molly's Boys and I would like a cartoon type pic of 5 guys with or without gear(with gear being a plus looking bad but not psycho) Not sure what something like this would cost but if anyone has the ability. I know I dont then let me know.

For some reason, the way "Molly's Boys" sounds, it sounds like a play on the old WWII Nose art of a bomber would be perfect... Just that style for some reason seems like it would work awesome.

Yeah Molly's Boys was made up because I own Molly's Paintball and we did not want to try to make up some name that brings fear. That seemed lame. My front guy suggested Molly's Boys and it stuck.

I really like the WWII nose art idea

There are somemore nose art Here (http://www.acepilots.com/planes/nose_art.html). Some of the pics are a little risque.

I have also done some logo work for AO teams (or teams with AO members in them), as well as other work for AO members…. But I simply don’t have the time to help this time. Good luck and I hope you get what you need.

Thanks for all your help so far. Frymarker I have seen some of your work and you do extremely nice work. The only thing is I was looking for more of a cartoonish theme. We play serious but also have fun so that is the logo I was looking for. I will answer any PMs as fast as possible. Any ideas would be welcomed with open arms.

Paintballer187 We play everywhere. Molly's Boys II have been at stalker the majority of the year. This is our younger team. They are getting better every week. Most of the time Mike lists them as Molly's Boys and since we are usually somewhere else it does not matter much. I believe Molly's Boys 1 played three at Stalker this year. Most of the time we are at APOC(better paint). Why do you ask?

I recognized the team name. I played down at stalker when they were there for a 7 man trophy dash.

madmolly

Yeah that was Molly's Boys II at the 7 man. They finished last but learned a lot
Team I will try to contact him. Hard to explain online what I am looking for.

Frymarker. Do you do any cartoonish pics? I will try to find an example. Thanks.

Cartoony like this....

I can draw Marvel comic like style or I tend to lean towards Disney style as well, they have influenced me a great deal when I draw.

madmolly
10-26-2004, 02:45 PM
Yeah something like that but more disney style with some wild hair like this guy meets sonic the hedgehog. Remember I am 29 but I like to be different. That is awesome though.

Thanks, that's my husband I did it for the paintball field we use to have.

What exactly were you looking for?? Man/ woman like the ones pictured above on the plane??

Or a man and a woman together??

When do you need it by??

I have a bit to do here, but I'll set a side some time.

Oh, I kind of got hooked up into the lady idea and I just reread your first post, do you want the 5 men to look like the guys on the team?

Something I sketched at work really, really, really fast.

Is this kind of the look you wanted? Just 5 more guys sort of posing for a team photo?

madmolly
10-27-2004, 05:10 AM
Wow I can't believe how fast you guys are
Bad dog. I absolutely love the pic but the team is after my 5 year old daughter so seems a little weird with the whole nipple out but I am going to show the boys anyway. That is cool

Frymarker something like LOADSM5 did 5 guys sort of like that maybe with some semi-evil facial expressions. That pics is awesome LoadSM5 I wish I had a tenth of your guys artistic abilities. WOW

Once again I looked over what you guys put together and that is so cool. I have to thank you guys again for fast work that looks awesome.

For Frymarker;

Your art is really good, very Disney for sure. The drawing of the man with the crossed arms is almost like Doc from Atlantis. ( a good movie by the way )

I was looking for someone to help me with a quality signature, can you help?
(It is kind of ironic that I use a computer for work but have problems using one at home. It most likely has to do with application, I think.)

Let me know if you are interested , or have time.

Also to Bad_Dog you have alot of talent too. Congradulations on a kick a** design too.

I must admit graphic arts was never my strong point.
Not to say I am easily impressed but damn both of these artist are talented!

:headbang:

I am in full agreement. Frymarker do you do the vinyl also or is that something I need to contract with LOADSM5? Thanks.

The Frymarker
10-27-2004, 01:50 PM
Thanks guys,

Gorddesigns, if you need something I'll do my best to help you out, but it may be a little bit you can pm me what you were looking for, there are many, many great photoshoppers on here though.

I'm more of a pencil, scan, and then color it in person :D

Madmolly, nope sorry, Load does viny though, if you want him to design the logo, I wouldn't be offended at all, like I said it may take me a little bit of time to come up with something, and if you are pressed for time, I completely understand :)

madmolly
10-28-2004, 07:17 AM
Not pressed at all. The season is over here so this is for next year. Either person is fine. I take either one and work with Load on the vinyl and the other goodies.

The Frymarker

Okay I'll take my time, if you have any pics you want used you can email them to me diva7@att.net

You can send me a pic of your daughter as well.

The Frymarker
11-12-2004, 01:34 PM
I came up with this..

It's kind of hard for me to find the time to draw the other 4 guys

EDIT; Oops I had the wrong team name on there, I had mad mollies and I changed it, silly me :tard:

thanks, probably not what your looking for huh??

I just have so many thing right now with the Christmas season approaching that I'm swamped, but I didn't want you to think I forgot about you.

madmolly
11-12-2004, 02:09 PM
It is very good. And almost exactly what I wanted for cartoon appearance. The only thing I would want different is 5 guys instead of one and it does not need to be an action pose. I can wait also. I have LOAD in line for the vinyl so I am set and we dont need it til march.

I think the name "Molly's Boys" sounds more like some prohibition era gang than anything else, like "Ma Barker's Boys" or the "Newton Boys". Kind of conjures up an image of a bunch a wild guys in fedora hats with tommy guns :shooting:, more than some wrestler looking guy.

Good point. I like the idea. Load I am getting the boys together for pics this month sometime so I will send them to you and work out deals. I want stickers for loaders, guns, and banners as well as shirt prints.

the media that a design is reproduced on, dictates the artworks color pallet and line weights.

to get a design to reproduce across that spectrum,
you had better concentrate on a strong Black and White concept

If I may, this is not entirely true in this case. Load and most sign shop nowadays have the ability to print a digital picture on the vinyl, then cut the desired shape out.

I do agree that a strong black and white concept is one that stands out more than a full color version. My question is this... why have plain jane, when you have bling!

Man if that was english I missed that class. Please explain to me what you said.

If I'm the one who ultimately does the whole design then it'll be in a vector format. from there I can add or subtract color, add line thickness, whatever and save it to virtually any other format.

doc_Zox
12-08-2004, 09:53 PM
nope, you missed graphic design class

artists can talk like that fer hours on end
while debating the merit of san serif typography scrawled on plumbing fixtures
:D

a good design is founded on a strong concept

find that concept that reads from 10 feet away

then add the bling bling color

Stop it my ears are bleeding. I need to go to a design class. The last art class I had my teacher told me I drew like a 1st grader. I think I was 17. Kind of bummed me out.

im game for this. ill sketch up some ideas this week to see what you like. but if you had a pic of your 5 boys let me know, i could speed up things.
also, does it matter what guns are in teh drawing, equipment, etc. i do not want to draw profilers, timmys, and empire clothes if you hate them :D
