I think the sox winning the series is the first sign that hell is beginning to freeze. It will officially freeze when the cubs win.

Blah Darn you Chillip! Your neighbors to the north have OVERCAST which means i get to see nothing....

Was watching it last night, taking pictures at different points for my astronomy class. It was PERFECTLY clear, not a cloud in sight... then right before totality it was just gone, super-overcast for the rest of the night/morning. :(

No, last night was a total lunar eclipse. The moon looks red because some of the light from the sun is refracted around the Earth through our atmosphere. If you were standing on the moon during the event, you would see a bright red/orange ring around the Earth, like seeing all the planet's sunrises and sunsets at the same time. That's why the moon turns red. If earth had no atmosphere, it would look black... of course, we wouldn't be around to see it.

Well, I took pics the other night, but I did not get a chance to go through them yet. Here are a few from the Eclispe last year (Nov 3, 2003). There were taken from a state park in Butler County, PA

Was taken with a Canon 10d at prime focus, through a 12.5 inch Redshift Telescopes Dobsonian(shameless plug). Combined total of 10, 15 second exposures using Registax.

FOL: That's awesome.

You wouldn't by chance have any pics of the Horsehead Nebula? or the ever beautiful M31?
