A port of the N64 Version? Hook me up! lol, just dusted off my N64 and Goldeneye, as fun today as it was...whenever N64 was hot.. lol.

The N64 Joypad is (IMO) Nintendo's greatest acheivement yet, and Goldeneye is a very smooth game (More so then any current Console FPS)..

You guys should check out Tribes : Vengeance.

It's based off the UT2004 engine and is sick, lots of fun, with an actual single-player campaign.

You know that you CAN use a mouse and keyboard on xbox or ps2? You just need a 20 something dollar adapter. I'm going to get one fairly soon just to try it out with a nice optical mouse and keyboard. I'm finally going to be able to play rainbow six 3 on XBOX like a pro. I suck so hard at that game because my TV is small and it's hard for me to aim on it with a controller.

AND you can also hook the xbox up to a computer monitor. My friend does that quite often to take advantage of the better resolution.

i dont see what you guys are complaining about console FPS sucking. if you ask me i enjoy playing FPS on my consoles especially Halo on my X-box. (16 player death matches can be loads of fun on tha beast) if you ask me FPS are better on consoles becuase you do not need a really good computer to run them. (sadly my comp wont run doom3 which makes me very upset) yeah the controls are goofy sometimes but once you get usesd to using them then you should be fine, and yeah i know it is so much easier to use a mouse and board. i like counter-strike, DoD, AAO: Americas Army Operation(you can download that at AmericasArmy.com, need kind of a lot from comp to run well) battlefield, and Halo on X-box(hopefully halo 2 will be as bad *** as they hype it to be) on the PS2 i liked playing Time Splitters (yes that is the name of the FPS) i hope you guys can eventually either convert to consoles or atleast have either one or more of the consoles along with your computer. Have fun gaming.

As for the keyboard/mouse thing... kind of defeats the purpose of keeping the Xbox seperate from a computer. Getting used to using the two joysticks at once is a very rewarding experience and requires a build up of dexterity. Best thing about Xbox is Halo system link doesn't lag like Halo PC LAN.

The United Offensive expansion is very good, both SP and MP. The addition of driveable tanks in MP add a new dimension.

Operation Flashpoint is still my favorite FPS. The Finnish Defense Force mod helps bring it more up to date.

I've only ever had consoles so my choices are all console games or ported pc games.

Goldeneye-N64- The real Godfather of all great console games. There were others before of course, but this is the first one that was truly world class. FPS multiplayers have rarely reached this level of quality. My friends and I played it throughout highschool, college, and still occasionally break it out for some 007 action. Its just a great game.

Perfect Dark-N64- Elevated Rare to almost god like status in the world of videogame developers in my eyes. So many gaming and multiplayer options, great weapons, and saved player stats rule! I think my character kill stats in multiplayer were around 80,000 kills, thats how lame I am... :(

Ghost Recon series-Xbox- The first Ghost Recon game is my personel favorite for Xbox, even though there are much better looking games for the Xbox. It has such a great tactical feel to it, its not like any "run and gun" FPS I had ever played. I would be genuinley confused when shooting broke out from enemies I hadnt even seen. I love the uber realistic damage mode! Nothing like hitting a running enemy across the field with your sniper rifle and watching him tumble over and hit the ground like a bag of potatos. The strategy element of being able to command two squads and having them set ambushes or catch enemies in crossfire is also priceless.

Halo-Xbox- the current standard, and rightly so, for FPS games. I consider this game the only true successor to Goldeneye as far as multiplayer greatness is concerned. This is definately a "must have" for any Xbox owner. If you have an Xbox and don't own this already then you must be a
regular rider of the short bus...

Rainbow Six-Xbox- cool missions, excellent sound fx, love the command controls, excellent lighting effects and great weapon choices. Linear gameplay but still great. Multiplayer on Live is tha' bomb... :tard: :p
