Just thought I'd ask AO; anyone know of some good wargames along the lines of Warhammer40k, only, not ****? Looking to get back into the/a hobby. Thanks.

a very good table top mini game along the same lines as 40k is a game called warzone.

its cheaper and has a much better rules system.

A newish one has not long been available, it's called Confrontation (more fantasy based though)
it's pretty good, the figures are of brilliant quality and the game is easy to play...

and the best thing? most forces consist of 4-10 figures! so no huge set-up costs!

A pre done force in a box costs about $45 and you get all the rules in there too....

I played 40k for about 15+ years or so, and I think I'm pretty much permanently burnt out. I've switched to just straight Warhammer, and I love it. Feels alot like chess in some ways.

Heavy Gear is supposed to be decent, though I've never played it.
