My friends (all 4 of 'em :)) and I live in southern Minnesota, we started playing paintball in the spring of 2001. I can safely say that we all love it, and we have enjoyed much time this summer playing in the woods.
We are some older gents, and we like playing more a more stratagy oriented game vs. going against high schoolers with 4.5 second 40s at the local fields :) (although this is fun too). So we like games in the woods were we can use our maturity and vast wisdom to our advantage (ya right).
I was wondering if anyone has some info on some big sim games that played anywhere in the midwest. Games with like 100 people on each side, and they last for a couple of days or so, with camping and everything.
A trip to WI or IA would be fine with us. We want to plan an excusion for next spring or summer some time.
Does anyone know of such an event in our area? A large, outdoor paintball activity based on strategy and planning, rather than arcade like Rambo style games.
PS. I don't want to discuss the implications of PB simulating real combat. Some people think this is wrong, and I can see where they are coming from. In America, everyone has the right to say what they think..just please don't say it there. We're just looking to have a little fun, not talk philosophy. Thanks for reading this far.
