can you put eyes into an emag with the stock board? i was just thinking that the xmag has the same board(i think) and it uses eyes.

Yes. You can do it.

You'd need to mill the gripframe, rail and whatever ULE body you use. (You'd have to mill a hole if you use the twistlock barrel in the barrel itself.)

And make sure you have the appropriate holes for the on/off switch and software to run it.

check out the workshop forum, it might help you out.
My old friend bajaboy knew how to do this. I believe he had and sold 3 ACE'd emags. Not an easy job for somebody that isn't good at milling.

Yes , Its called a "ace board" it can be fitted for the emag. Your rail and body will need to be milled and you will need a software what suports the ace board. Theres not really a need for the ace if you have lx ;)

having the ace board on my sfl, i dont use the ace, but i find that the switch instead of the yellow pin works better for turning the marker on and off.

well, I know that my emag board has an option for ACE, i dont use it cause i dont have ACE..

Dayspring
12-01-2004, 09:31 AM
That's because from 3.x software and above, AGD has used a unified software. Everyone gets the OPTION for the ACE now.

could be wrong,
isnt the software limited to 20bps w/o ace but unlimited w/ ace?

Dayspring

Wrong.

It's 20 and 20. (on/off)

problem is that AGD is out of ACE boards...I can do the machine work but the boards are now the problem.

LawnGnome7

did they stop making them too, or just have none in stock?

BradAGD

Since they aren't making the Xmag anymore, they don't need to make the ACE boards for it.

thas what i figured, there is no other board that will work?

and how much would the milling be?

they are not talking about the main PC board. The x-mag uses another smaller circut board which the eye is mounted to. The main PC board in your e-mag can use the eye with just a simple software change (quick and ushally free/cheap) and (this is the important one) one of the small eye boards that AGD apparently no longer makes.

For a while people were putting morlock boards into the emags - but I remember Tom saying that they weren't really strong enough to reliably push the emags huge honken' solenoid. The cool thing was that the board supports both reflective (yuck) and breakbeam eyes.

Anyone try the new predator board? Can it reliably drive the emag 'noid? I know it supports eyes.

Also, does it have firing modes? I have to have modes on my guns - which is the big reason I keep my Pandora'd Viking. If I had an emag with eyes (breakbeam) and modes I would cut back to a one gun operation.

the switch on the xmag, is that just for the ace or the entire gun?

ive seen a couple of emags with morlocks and they seem to shoot just fine. as a matter of fact they were faster than the regular emag boards.

Any morlock board will have no problem with the emag solenoid.

I thought companies was forced to have spareparts for some years after the discontinue of a product?

I saw an emag with an eye installed and it was really fast. I don't know exactly how much it would end up costing you, but eyes are definitely worth it. The emag I saw was definitely the FASTEST emag I ever saw. If you are lucky, you may be able to find someone with an eye board for an xmag for sale. The morlock board is real fast as well, but I heard they are pretty hard to install. I don't know this for sure but it is what I heard.

the ace board in my xmag limits how far away i can go with my magnets thus limiting how light my trigger pull can be.. this is a problem because if the magnet is sitting to close to the ace board the board shuts down and does nothing. so i sacrificed ace for a good pull so far i only chop every once and a while and never with good paint so its worth it not to use it!! and if you talk to everyone else who has xmags the ace is one of those things that just doesnt see much use!

WE can put break beam eyes on the Emag when getting a DevilMAG upgrade. I am in the process of doing #22 Xmag now for myself. Very possible to have custom molded Eye covers made for the Xmag breach soon as well.

How is it any faster with, or without eyes?

it's 20 with eyes, 20 without.

Using eyes with a L7 could make it easier to hit 20 I guess.

I don't think I'll be shooting 20bps with either so I'll just stick with my L10 for now. :)
