Hey All,

I have a question about the purpose of the circuit boards in electro guns.

Heres the story, my friend has a semi-only Rainmaker. While messing with the gun, he fried the board by hooking up the wires incorrectly. However, if he bypasses the board, the gun will still fire, he chronoed it and it still works with the micro switch hooked straight up to the battery and onto the Solenoid.

Question is, what is the board used for? Is it only used to step down the voltage from 9v to 3v (or any voltage spec for the solenoid)? Can the board just be replaced with simply a resistor or diode to step down voltage? Just wondering what the board possibly be used for if the gun can be fired with it completely bipassed.

Let me know Guys... AGD? Electro tinkeres? My friend wants to know if he is really damaging his solenoid. He also want to know if the board was involved as a timing mechanism. Not sure really...

Hi HS

I'll allow Tom to answer the question regarding the emag
but I can answer on the Hyperframe and ematrix (have both)

at its most basic the electronics control the ON time and
OFF time of the solenoid . this of course controls the forward
and back time of the bolt (in an air solenoid marker)

this is necessary to allow sufficient time for the
marker to fire properly and to reload a ball and recharge the
air properly

the rest is bells and whistles:rolleyes:
