If I got one with less volts obviously it wouldn't be powerful enough to charge the battery, but say I got one with more volts. What would happen?

It syas 16.8V on the battery itself. So why use the 12V charger?

you use the 12v charger because thats what the adapter needs for its input. no more, no less

i have that charger too, and you will have to get the correct addapter that plugs into the end of the wall unit. so make sure you take the black charging unit that sits on top of the battery. also when pluging it in, make sure you have the pollarity correct!

Ok, so I just got the 12V adapter with the little two prong plug thingy and plugged it in to charge my battery. When I did this, smoke started coming out of my charger and it smelled real bad. What should I do? I'm not trying to have to buy a new charger for $80. I know I'm reatarded, but someone help me, please.
