you may need dos4gw.exe. it is a 32bit dos extender you may need to play the game

Window's emulates DOS so it might be worth a try to boot into DOS using a floppy and then trying to run it there.

well its not only the game. i have a couple base cipher programs ( simple programs for frequency analysis and such) that give me the same screen.

this same thing happened to me, give me about 10 minutes and ill let you know how to fix it. You need the windows cd. Its a corrupt autoexe.nt file that you write over again

*EDIT*
didnt take 10 minutes :p
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767

*DOUBLE EDIT*
1. Insert the CD into the CD drive or DVD drive.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
4. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:

expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\command.com
exit
5. Start or install the program. If the issue is resolved, do not complete the remaining steps. If the issue is not resolved, go to the next step.

lol, put the actual drive letter, like D:\ or E:\ or whatever it is, not "CD ROM DRIVE LETTER" :p

i had//have a problem where certian old dos games wont run under windows NT based os's on fast computers, it would produce a run time error, and i never found a way around this, save using moslo, but that only worked on less fast computers ????, im not a complete idiot though, ive been using dos since well, forever????
