How do i remove the twist lock bushing from my emag rail to put a ULE body on it?

Should i freeze the rail and tap it out?

I'm hesitant to take a mallet to it.

Thanks

Turn the rail upside down. Smack it with a hammer. It works best if there's a place for the assembly to push/fall through.

wrap the rail in a towel (so you dont scratch it), put it upside down over the edge of a sturdy bench or table, so that you can smack the bottom of the twislock assembly with a rubber mallet.

Just hit it out. Hell, I usually got mine out by hitting it on the bench. They are not in there that well.

Try putting it in a vise with some wood in it and slowly pushing it out that way. What you do is kinda hard to hold, so you might want to get a friend.
What you do is this:
Put the rail in vertically with the bottom of the rail facing towards you. Push the bottom of the bushing up against the vise and put in some wood between the other end of the vise and the rail. This would also work with a piece of wood with a hole in it. Anyway here's a pic:

Find the nearest person and smack them in the head with the rail. If it doesn't work, repeat step one.

Smacking it out with a hammer works but you do run the risk of bending the rail. Pressing it out in a vice or press is a much better idea.

Get a cutting torch and cut the rail in half. . . LOL

I'm still waiting for the day that AGD makes a ULE twistlock body...

I'm never giving my twistlock body up.
