Hey everybody!!! CenterFlag has launched a new screw-in regulator called the 4CE (pronounced FORCE). Many of you may be aware (some may not) that CenterFlag is a small company. As such we just don't have the marketing budget to run pages and pages of print ads every time we put something new out on the market. We are trusting the players to generate some buzz for this new regulator...it truly is unlike anything else in the industry. Here is the dirt:

- Screw in design.
- Can be disassembled under pressure (check valve integrated into regulator).
- 4 pressure levels available via spring changes. 350 PSI, 450 PSI, 750 PSI and 1000 PSI (which should make all the RT and X Valve shooters...like myself...happy.) :shooting:
- Lighter and smaller than the competition.
- Bridges the gap between a $499 dollar adjustable and a $200 screw in.
- Can be serviced by players and dealers!!
- New cosmetic design.

The system will initially be available on 70cui bottles for the first run, with all other bottle sizes to follow.

Looks like a great product to me. Too bad I already have a Dynaflow or else I'd buy it.

Initially our production run is going to be soaked up by full system sales. We are putting together a "trade-in" program now...and hope to have the details for that available soon. The trade in program will require end-users to ship their air-systems into the factory for removal/install.

Any chance that this service might be available at Skyball if Centerflag is going to be there? Shipping anything to and from Canada & the U.S. just isn't worth it for me.

Cartman,

As I said we won't be rolling out the "trade-in" program for a few weeks. Skyball is still up in the air for us. So we may not be able to get you taken care of right away. We do have an excellent relationship with Premium Paintball and Canadianpaintball.com so I'm sure we can figure something out for our good friends to the north.

Dennis and the gang are a great group and make bombproof regs. Trina and I Love, Love, Love our Dynaflows. I can only imagine the outstanding quality that is going into the 4CE.

Yeah, Skyball's not 'till March, so I figured that'd be plenty of time for the program to be up and running. I'll either get my Dynaflow rebuilt, or look at one of these new regs.

I went to high school with the brothers who own Premium, so I've got a pretty good relationship with them as well, (I bought my first mag from Trevor well before he opened the store) but they've got to make a buck themselves, so it's nice to deal directly with the manufacturers and avoid the markups. They don't have any Hyperframes in stock either and I was hoping to grab one of them at Skyball as well.

Hopefully you guys'll be there.

Will the reg come with all four springs, or do we have to choose which one we want at the time of purchase? If you have to choose, how much will the additional springs cost?

EDIT: nevermind, I just read the second link posted about it. It will ship wiht the 800 psi spring, and you can buy a kit with the other three springs for $20. And the rebuild kit is $25.

I want the reg by itself. Don't subject me to the tyranny of the package deal tank conspiracy! :cuss:

I had the opportunity to test out CenterFlag's new 4CE preset reg this last weekend.

Having spent most of my time using the Smart Part's Manifold style Max-Flo system the most obvious thing I noticed was how light the tank was. Now yes it's a preset tank and should be lighter than any adjustable out there. Centerflag added a little milling to the reg for some extra flare; nothing elaborate, but enough to make it interesting to look at: (Note: click in the image to see a 1600x1200 image)

<a href="http://www.zakvetter.com/4.jpg"><img src="http://www.zakvetter.com/4.jpg" width="600" height="450"></img></a>
<a href="http://www.zakvetter.com/5.jpg"><img src="http://www.zakvetter.com/5.jpg" width="600" height="450"></img></a>
<a href="http://www.zakvetter.com/6.jpg"><img src="http://www.zakvetter.com/6.jpg" width="600" height="450"></img></a>

So CenterFlag told me about the neatest sounding feature of the whole tank: Its 4 sets of springs that you could swap out to get the input pressure you want for the marker you want. I expected to hear about 1 or 2 low and mid pressure springs with an 850psi being the high-pressure spring, but when I heard 1000psi high pressure spring... well you know what I wanted that for :D. The only question left was, could this new "4CE" reg do what my Max-Flo and the flagship DynaFlow tanks could do on a Mag? Here is what I found out:

4CE Movie (small mp4 file) (http://homepage.mac.com/craig.vetter/.Movies/CenterFlag_4ce.mp4)

4CE Movie (larger mov file) (http://homepage.mac.com/craig.vetter/.Movies/CenterFlag_4ce.mov)

(and yes I am still trying to figure out a good way to make a wmv streaming file.)

What didn't like about the reg? Well.. I really like The DynaFlow's bleed valve to degas the lines which the 4CE does not have. But this is not really an issue as most of the screw-in ASA's have a knob for closing and opening the tank and venting the air.

So I am quite impressed with this new 4CE reg. Essentially, this new system offers all the benefits of the adjustable tank with none of the apparent drawbacks. If you want to be able to use this on your Mag but not have it bouncing all over the place, just drop in the 800psi spring and you are tourney legal. If you have some low pressure marker you can swap in your choice of lower pressure springs. And it means you can get the most out of your Mag now without dropping $300+ (like I have) on a bigger adjustable.

If you've been holding back on getting an adjustable for your RT, you were smart.

Does it come with all the various springs? This system looks like it would be perfect for me having both low pressue & high pressure markers.

Thanks for the encouragement!! To answer some of the questions I have seen on the board:

1) We currently will only have the 4CE available as a complete new system. Our current plans do not include "reg-only" sales to players, dealers or distributors. We are evaluating the merits of a trade-in program and plan to release more details for that as they become available.

2) The complete system will MSRP for $289.00. It will not include a spring kit or parts kit. It will ship with a standard output spring (750-800 PSI). The Spring Kit will get you the remaining 3 pressure options. The parts kit will get you all the "soft seals" needed to rebuild the 4CE at least twice.

3) The 4CE has been fully tested. It has been reviewed by the folks at 68caliber.com. We had players use them at Huntington and the World Cup and the systems performed flawlessly. :headbang: I also shipped a test regulator out to Zak Vetter and told him to give us an honest "warts and all" assessment.

The driving idea behind this product is fairly simple. We wanted to create a PREMIUM screw-in air system that could be safely operated and maintained by players and dealers. The added bonus of versatility makes the 4CE that much more valuable. For dealers, the 4CE can help streamline their inventory and fill the gap between standard screw-ins and high end adjustables like the DynaFlow or Evil Scion. For players, you've got the ease of use and transport that comes with a screw-in...and the "adjustment" and service capabilities found in high-end systems.

But all this business-type talk stuff is boring....the real goods are that the 4CE will help you push any marker to its maximum performance envelope. :shooting: We are taking pre-orders from dealers and end-users so the first run will get snapped up pretty quickly. No  if you don't get yours.

Although we knew that Zak would have good luck with the system, it is still nice to see it in action.

FYI....the early buzz for the 4CE is going well however, we keep hearing the same thing over and over again:

"GIVE US A TRADE-IN PROGRAM!!!" :bounce:

Because we are a player-oriented company...we have decided to heed your call. Details for the trade in program will be released after Xmas. We bow before your demands. :hail:

what advantage will this have over the adjustable screw-in, the X-stream, made by nitroduck?

tasker89
12-23-2004, 04:51 PM
Arson,

First...let me say that Nitro-Duck makes a fine product. Many years ago when I worked behind the retail counter (Fox Paintball in Illinois) I sold quite a few of their air-systems to many happy customers.

At CenterFlag our focus for the 4CE was to design a screw-in which out-performed our existing line of 400/420 regs. What we ended up with was a system that allowed for rebuild, gave the player some flexibility in output pressure, retained a small and light profile and performed at a level worthy of today's paintball markers.

Ultimately the decision to select a 4CE vs. an X-Stream (or any other regulator) will be up to you as a player. However, if you do elect to buy a CenterFlag system...I can assure you that you will be more than happy with the performance.
