Ok,

I'm just getting into Mag's myself. I want to get a ULE custom and I was wondering what kind of tank should I have for it? I know they take High pressure correct? Now would a 48/3000 Steel tank work and not mess the gun up? I've had a lot of people tell me that it wouldn't work, so I figure you guys of all people would know. Since this is the Automag forum.

A 48/3000 steel tank will not mess up the gun.

Any HP/Air tank that has an output of at least 800 psi will work fine.

So it should work fine?

Yes. Any HPA tank that puts out 800+ will work fine.

Steel tanks are going to be REAL heavy though.

I'm fine with the heavyness. I lift weights, so no big deal. As long as I can play.

Inless you want to fill up every game go with 68ci 3k or 4.5

Crossfires are great with mags

With that size you will have to fill up almost EVERY game. When I use my 44/4500 I have to fill every like 2-3 games.

How many shots will I get out of a 48/3000? Like 600-700 shots per fill?

MonsterMag

yeah whats the formula you use again?

What formula are you talking about man?

I want the 48/3000

The general formula I have seen is 10* the cubic inch number for 3000 psi tanks, 15* the cu number for 4500 psi tanks...

47/3000 = approx. 470 shots
47/4500 = approx. 705
68/3000 = approx. 680
68/4500 = approx. 1020
88/3000 = approx. 880
88/4500 = approx. 1320

as I understand it....the formula for shots per tank (automags) is as follows.

3000 psi = 10 shots per ci
4500 psi = 15 shots per ci

yor gonna get about 480 shots if not less

A 68ci 4500 would get you 1020 shots ;)

Good thing I only shoot a hopper per each game. But jeeze, that's all I'll get out of a 47/3000? I guess I'll get it to start off with since money is a factor right now. But when it isn't, I'll get a good one. I just want to get out there and play.

Yeah , I started out with a pmi ,47 3000psi then bought a 114ci 4500psi tank locally then bought a 68ci 4500psi of pbn :tard:

When you upgrade get a crossfire or flatline :headbang:

my buddy's got a 45/3000 crossfire on his mag classic and he's ALWAYS running out of air mid game. And dont limit yourself to one hopper of paint until you actually PLAY with the mag, they are so seductive to just rip on someone, emptying your hopper quick.

get at least a 68/3000 i have a steel tank, its not too bad, did wish i had a dynaflow though

play with more paint, the only thing worse than running out of air is running out of paint

Fitscr I think his name is was trying to sell me a tank. But I'm getting my Mag first. Maybe after I get my mag I'll get the tank. Which is why I'm trying to get him to hold it for me.

But one more question: Is it cheaper to fill up a HPA tank than c02?

craltal

depends where you go. For me it's cheaper to get the local SCUBA shop to fill my HPA tanks than it is to get a CO2 fill, but it'll probably vary where you are.

At my field it costs $2.99 to fill up a 9 oz c02 tank.

So filling up a tank per say a 47/3000 would be about the same price range correct? If not cheaper?

I mean, I can see paying maybe 2.99 like every three games. Cuz I don't put a hail of paint down on people. I'll get like 450 shots rounded out of the tank right? That means two hoppers and a quarter of a hopper. I at most use a hopper and a half in a tough game. So only in a real tough day where real competitors come will I have to get angry at my tank. Apart from that, no biggie.

MonsterMag

$1.00 per 1000psi usally

Echo-Newb
12-22-2004, 07:09 PM
That's not too much to ask. I can see paying $1.00 every like two games.

So this would be my average day, excluding maybe a tough day where some real competitors come to the field:

$1.00 Per Hpa tank fill
$10.00 Admission Fee
$15.00 For 500 Paintballs
-----------------------------

Now, guessing that I'd get the thing filled every two games then let's see, maybe I have 12 games one day. That's $6.00 out of my pocket.

So in all on an average day it would cost me $31.00 to play at my local field. (Paint costs are really cheap) Also, this is just for 500 paintballs. Not factoring in me getting more paint. So if I did get more paint I'd be paying just $46.00 in that day. Not a huge thing. I've seen guys go play in one day and use up like 80-100 bucks. So it's not like I'm saving too much money, but I'm still in the ok range. Plus, refills are cheap.

No, he means $1 per 1K psi... A 3000 psi fill would cost you $3, a 4500 psi fill would be $4.50...

MonsterMag

yeah 3 bucks for a full fill , Do you have a pack?

I carry a full 68 4.5k and 4 , 140round pods with me just incase :D

Get the "all day air" option at the field, it's better than having to keep up with separate fills and all that stuff. Unless you have a huge tank, then it might be cheaper to pay per-fill.

Echo-Newb
12-23-2004, 09:09 AM
True, I could get the all day fill. Yeah, I can do that. I mean, what's hte big deal having to go up to the fill station every two games? Psh, as long as it's free I'll do it. And trust me, I know I'm a cheap skate. :D
