I'd guess 20,000. They've been around for over a decade, and were once " the gun to own" But I could easily be wrong.

serial number of the last new one (classic) i bought, late last year, was in the 67,000's. who knows about retros and x valves.

how many are in circulation and still in use is another question.

in my aerea, i can only think of about 10 people that i have seen use mags other than my circle of friends. not counting waynes world...i saw a decent amount there last december.
lest say about 50 people maybe.
bear in mind, that 50 was out of the 1700 people claimed to be in attendance.

Rob said something like 100,000 mags are out there. I assume this means Automags and Minimags, RT's and Emags. But I am not sure. We were talking about high serial numbers and the fact that there are automags in the 60K serial number range.

If someone can give me the overall number plus the break down of how many are out there in the last 2-4 years, it'll help my analysis a great deal in deciding whether it's feasible to come up with an improved 9volt e-frame.

You've got close to 70,000 Classic Automags.

About 20,000 Minimags.

I "think" the classic RTs got somewhere around 3K to 4K.

RT-Pros about 2,000.

MicroMags I'm not sure about, but they have a seperate serial number so if anyone out there has one, post the number of your's.

All in all, well over 100K mechanical Mags floating around in people's gearbags, closets, or somewhere else.

Hey:

PBX Ronin 23:

Around about: 70,000 or so Automag Classics... I want to say the number was 72k something, but don't quote that.

Around about: 20,000 and change Minimag Valves... I want to say like 24k on this one but again don't quote me on that.

Around about: Classic RT's around bout 4,000-6,000

Around about: RT Pro's no-idea.

Around about: 2,000 Sydarms. That is a little high maybe closer to 1,500.

Around about: 2,000-3,000 E-Mags.

Around about: under 1,000 U.S. Mags, I think like 400 something but it can be found on here with a simple search.

Around about: No, telling on total aftermarket X-Valves that were sold.

Hope that helps, my numbers may be off, but I am pretty sure they are as close as most.

Does this take into acount the "destroyed" valves from trade-ins? Think of how many of those classics may have been traded in for retros or x valves. So techinically they wouldn't be in circulation would they.

Edit, that would be interesting to know, I wonder if agd keeps a count on how many they are melting down.

I think I know why Ronin wanted to post this... in relation to his other thread.

In this area, I personally know about 50-70 ballers who are at least fairly involved in the sport. Out of those, I know maybe 5 who use a mag, and out of those, perhaps only 2 or 3 who would ever consider buying an expensive upgrade like an e-frame for their mags.

but what about the x valves that they were traded in for? thier numbers replace the ones traded/destroyed.
