View Full Version : What's the "how to" on a stripped screw??

What's the procedure for removing a stripped screw? The hole in which the allen wrench fits into on this screw is stripped inside. Epoxy and an allen wrench did not work. Never really had to deal with this. I'm sure somebody has though. Thanks.

try shoving a flat head in that fits....that worked for me once :headbang:

It's one of those grip frame screws. Where I can't get a good angle on it.

Hey, I should have searched huh?? I got a lot of ideas but none that are a quick fix with the tools I have at the moment. I will probably go buy a dremmel tomorrow. Thanks Andrew.

You can cut a notch in it using a hacksaw. Take the blade off, run it through the trigger guard and re-attatch it to the hacksaw frame. A vice to hold the frame works great while you are cutting. ;)

another way...but be careful is to hammer a star screw driver into the hole thats just a bit bigger or close to same size and it should give enough bite to turn the screw out.
