Finally my eternal suffering is over. I got my p99 finally, god it's gorgeous and balances so well in my hand and feels just perfect. The pictures are ****ty as I couldnt get rid of the flash. The slide is Ti coated so its silverish but not, it's a unique color.

Man, 10 days. It takes me at least 3+ weeks to get a handgun purchase order here in NYC and thats if all goes well (they are known to lose your order from time to time).
How much was the P99?

Very nice gun, especially the Ti coating. Is it made by Smith&Wesson? If so, I hope they have cleaned up their act. I know a good number of people who work and used to work at the factory in Springfield, Mass. They told me all about the "fitting room" and that was enough to make me nervouse about shooting a S&W. Hopefully Walther showed them the path of Teutonic perfection.

Walther makes it, S&W imports it. S&W has their own version of the gun but i've heard it's inferior.

I checked it before I bought it, has the german designations on the slide, frame, abd barrel which means its 100% Walther made.

Sehr gut. Walther makes excellent weapons. And no "fitting room."

I love the p99, they are pretty nice!

I am in love with my brothers HK USP, chambered in .40 as well. I had my eye on a kimber .45 that was red and black, man i wanted that.

Its a 2003 which is the style Ilike most so I used that to talk him down. I know age has nothing to do with real guns but still a start.. Started at 669 and I got it for a bit less( sub 580). Not too bad .

I just got done cleaning her........600 Rounds and I'm even more in love. Handles so nicely, the recoil doesnt feel like a normal 40...more like a 9mm with alot more stopping power. I test fired Hyrda Shoks and Mag Safes through her today as well. those mag safe bullets are something else. rated for 2100 fps and will pentrate then fragment...Wow so little kick..

So now i have a 10 Rnd clip of mag safes hidden somewhere .....for people threatening the lives and safety of my family.

A new gun is a thing a beauty. Have you messed with the various backstrap inserts much?

I recently got possession of my SIGPro 2340, and am now torn between it and my old P226 in 9mm. They both put rounds exactly where I want them, but the P226 has 17rnd mags while the SIGPro has only ten rounders, but those ten are .40 S&W. It's a dilema I'm glad to have. I certainly like it better than the other .40 guns I've shot (Beretta, HK USPc).

Add to that about 3k rounds of 180 grain JHP for free and I'm sitting pretty.

I tried it with the biggest one on and it was nice but the middle backstrap just melts into my hands like butter, With the bore axis nice and low it kicks into your hand not above it so its pure sex.....

Yeah, I was contemplating some LE mags, but the extra 2 rounds didn't seem to be worth the trouble. And, people outside CA should be dumping their 10-rnd mags for almost nothing nowdays. At least, that's my hope.

Speaking of which, did Mec-Gar make your P99's magazines? My SIGPro's mags appear to be Mec-Gar ("Made in Italy" stamp and the distinctive brushed appearance on the back flat). They seem to be making all of the Euro pistol mags these days.

now im not sure, wwalther might be just distrubeted by, but i think it may be owned by Smith and Wesson. because now smith pushes bot the P99 and thier SW99 with is pretty much a cheaper version

nevermind i just looked it up. they call it a "stratigic alliance"

Its strategic for S&W because they can't make a decent semi to save their life. Revolvers, yes, but Semis NO.

The sw99 feels likes a better glock, the p99 blows it away. so smooth, so nice. With Mec-Gar Magazines, instead of not so nice S&W ones.

All I know is that when guys who work in the factory say "Don't buy a Smith semiauto." I tend to listen to them. There are enough quality ,45s out there to prevent me from taking a chance on a S&W.

OoooOooo and they make a .357 SIG barrel for my gun........I've heard that is quite the hot round these days.
