We got a new tv like in November I believe. It is 46in toshiba widescreen, we have a problem though. If we put it on the floor it is too low. It was made for a stand. Right now we have it on an old oak chest thing. It just doesn't look right. Anyone else have this problem :( Or know where we could find an oak tv stand made for tv's like this. My mom doesn't want any silver plastic stuff.

Suspend it from the ceiling with steel cables. Much cooler looking that way.

Is she pretty?;)

There are a lot of sites that sell wide screen stands. Most have free shipping too.

That Bush stuff is fugly, IMO. Check out Salamander Designs (http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/products/av.jsp) . I've got one of their stands and it's great.

Toshiba will have something specific to the model. I found one for a Tosh 46" (not sure which specific model you have) at BestBuy:

problem is that buying a stabd from the TV mfg you can not get it to match your current furnature. There are a ton of companies that make good quality furnature that a TV will fit on. The one I posted was not high quality, though.

I agree totally, but some people like the idea of a TV stand that matches the TV itself. Just trying to provide another option.

I'm planning a big ol TV purchase soon and I plan to build the cabinet for it. Gotta have a spot for my center channel speaker over the TV. Plus I can make some nice DVD storage shelves to match it.
