Some say it couldn't be done!

This is still in the prototype phase at the moment. I thought a P90 mag would be fitting with TK's ties to the FN Herstal P-90.

Plans were to have an internal air system so that there is no visible tank or remote line

Not sure if I can work the air system out to be completely invisible but we'll see. I only had enough money for one shot at this for the moment so some cuts were made to the P90 that weren't needed, might be able to be covered up later (of course the automag will be painted).

I will release more pictures later this weekend, or maybe even tonight if I get some work done on it. Note: it will have a much more finished look once i get some more work done to it. As of right now it is very rough.

Just wanted to get some first impression opinions :)

*don't pay attention to the ugly hose, didn't cut it down.*

Haha nice, I thought about doing the exact same thing with a P90. Is it operational? And are you planing on putting that 3.5oz tank in the stock? And more pics!

Skoad
01-15-2005, 07:25 PM
at the moment it is not operational. Haven't put in hoses and/or feed system yet (and I'm cutting the barrel out tonight). Waiting on some more stuff to arrive.

I was going to use the 3.5 oz tank to fuel it but the tank is a little to fat. I'll have to think of something :)

DiSoRdeR
01-15-2005, 07:29 PM
You could always use 12 grams, or even this 4oz tank:LINK (http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=6OmGKG0u-naGwizHXFVGgGeI1trZIPYshno=?ProductID=fa%2esFAY7nJ YAAAD301ilA_2t#) It looks like its diameter is thin enough. Anyways its looks great, cant wait to see the finished product.

Skoad
01-15-2005, 07:31 PM
Right, a couple options I have are using Multiple 12 grams. Say 3 or so, just to give it a few more shots before it will need to be changed out.

I have seen those "spare air" tanks. They can be an option as well, just as long as they aren't *too* long.

If I can't really find a good way of doing it, I always can run a remote line no problemo - but i wanted this thing to be as realistic as could be

How will the feed system work? Will it be spring fed? And is that P90 the AEG that sells for around $50?

Skoad
01-15-2005, 07:44 PM
Spring fed is the plan.

01-15-2005, 09:04 PM
ya...is the clip for paint gonna come off the side or something like the old full auto tippmanns(and cut the feed down allmost like a warp)? Or are you gonna make it run along the side? Im really interested how you are gonna do that.

FireITup14

could you imagine just walking into a woodsball game with that.

I don't think he had anything to do with the P90 in particular, just the company FN Herstal. He'd have to confirm that, I can't seem to find any posts really talking about it.

Not to rain on a parade but, will that body take a hit and not shatter? You would not be taking apart an expensive airsoft gun for this and I am just curious about the durability of the cheaper ones.

Creative Mayhem
01-17-2005, 07:10 AM
Great Job Skoad!!! :headbang:

Like Simon, I would like to know where you got the body, or is it a full Airsoft gun that you took apart?

warbeak2099
01-17-2005, 09:12 AM
It's been done. A year ago or so someone on the tippy forum made one out of an A-5 and airsoft shells. Someone else made one out of a 98c I believe as well. Ah now I remember, it was Jefangel. He made a Dragunov too out of a 98c, wow his guns are good looking. But i've never seen a mag done. That should work even better since mags are so small. If you think about it they're the perfect milsim base. You can drop them in anything!

Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to give up on this project. I do not have the time to start fiddling around with the important stuff like - air, feed system, etc.

I'll probably either just part out the rest of the mag and throw away the p90 shells or sell it all to someone who wants to tinker around with it.

Basically its just an automag sandwiched between 2 pieces of plastic. :P P90 body is from an airsoft gun.

Sorry to hear about not being able to finish it, was looking great. Any ways I sent you a PM about it ;)

Skoad
01-19-2005, 08:48 PM
Well i think I think I rekindled my project again. Decided to just hook up a remote line to give it a whirl. Also it is with the "supressor" barrel - I'm working on the normal barrel soon. Another note: I didn't have the magazine on the top because feed system hasn't be conjured up, so I had to feed balls one by one.

Wasn't sure if it was going to break when fired, but looks like it didn't!

*don't pay attention to the ugly hose, didn't cut it down.*

This is a very cool project, Skoad!

:hail:

I hope you are able to work out an air & feed system that pleases you. You've done so much already, it would be a shame not to take this baby out onto the fields!

UPDATE:

Well as far as the air goes, I decided to use remote. I tried a 3.5 oz tank - too fat, 12 grams - wasn't satisfied with 15 shots, - maybe used the "Spare Airs" but they were pretty expensive.

Basically the only real visible updates are:

1) cut a barrel to look like a real P90 barrel
2) painted barrel and body (does not have clear coat yet)
3) remote hose hangin out
4) strap/harness mounts are now on, as well as the strap.
5) magazine has been cut as I start to fiddle with a feed system (no where near finished)

I'll throw it back together and get a pic of it sometime soon.

some one asked eariler what was tom kayes invovlement with FN? he produced and designed the stand alone version of the FN303 im pretty sure. it a non leathal weapon that looks like its based on a mag. google it. pretty ironic skoad chose the FN p90 as its made by the same company. if you ever decide to finish your project id pay you to put on a nice metal body on my classic mag.

I dont know the width of a 3.5 oz, but I know I used to have a 9oz and it was really skinny. You could try one of dem thangs.

Nice work. I tried to put a mag inside a talon shell but there wasnt enough meat in the talon shell :(

i hope you figure this project out... like warbeak said.... someone over at the tippy forum, jefangel or something did it. it looks absolutely amazing. A-5, e-grip, flatline.... running off of a remote to a nitro tank. i've played with him at paintball sam's big games here in wisconsin and it looks incredible.

for the feed sys....why not simply qloader it????

because I don't want some giant massive thingy sticking off of it.

Have you considered using the stock magazine in a spring-fed fashion? Assuming it will hold paintballs, of course.

Last I heard, that's what he's planning on doing.

Arson51
02-05-2005, 01:17 AM
look at where the feed neck is on the mag and look at where the input of the clip is at. it wouldnt work unless skoad made his mag into a bullpup configuration : :shooting:

Skoad
02-05-2005, 08:57 PM
Feed system will be very similar to a stock class but with a spring - which is exactly what semi-pistols are like.

If I were to do this again I already had plans of doing an XM8. But I found out that XM8 shells are currently around $300. So until they drop or can find some dirt cheapo ones....

vikking_1
03-27-2006, 09:17 PM
so where is this project at now. is it finished or are you still working on it.

p.s. if you havent finished it yet and want to sell it, ill buy. that thing looks great, ive wanted to do that for some time now.

cowboy_00
03-27-2006, 09:58 PM
Do you have enough space int the stock to put a warp? just run the tube up from the mag body through the p90 mag and back to a warp with a 50rd BE hopper.
cheap and rather slow...but it keeps it all hidden nicely
or mount the q back there the same way and if you need to cut the body a bit so it leave a rail like spot..then paint all the qparts black too.
