If a gun has scratches on it, is it possible to anno it to get rid of them?

I don't think so..
I think you'd have to get the whole thing stripped and reannoed.

What the anodizer would do would be to buff it out, and then re-anno it.

generally YES
the gerneal rule is if you can stick your fignernail in it it probly wont come out 100% but most little oens wil come out no problem

I totally agree. If you strip the old anno layer of it can sometimes take minor scratches out aswell. Big scratches must be buffed out though.

Strip, Sand if needed, buff/polish ... Re-Anno ... Repeat as needed ...

the anodization process actually makes scratches more visable. you would have to strip it, polish it, and then re-ano it. powdercoating, on the other hand, will cover up scratches.
