who would have guessed planeteclipse would jump on the bandwagon and make an intimidator clone. :)

The red one looks nice, but I'd never buy one...

The ego seems to be the gun of the moment. I've seen them, very light and fast.

I held one today...

VERY light and well balanced...

"Feels" more solid than a timmy...

Did not get to shoot it though... :(

I wonder if its going to have all the latest "ramping" modes that are so popular (and tourny legal) today...

seem like a great timmy alternative (those who own them say they are far superior to timmys, while thats arguable, they are nice) i probably wolnt be picking one up, but, nice markers.

from what i know they are timmys with QEV's they are faster and lighter, i got to hold one and they do feel alot lighter even with halo's i think the reg barrel and gun and asa weigh less than 2 lbs im definatly looking into getting one.

They are hot, I am thinking about picking one up.

I have sold 6 so far, and the run like a scalded cat.

They come set at a real low ROF so you dont get and "ramping" setitto 24bps and itflat out runs.

They use the E2 Eblade frame with Break beam eyes with slightly differnt programing.

They feel a lot more solid than a timmy, I am hoping they are using better extrusions than bobby.

They have already updated 2 things, Ball Detents and Bolts.

Real nice gun.

I had a chance to shoot one the other day. Very fast, very light, well balanced, and very solid. I'd consider getting one, but for what I do, too much firepower.

eclipse is one of the few compaines i would buy from w/o testing the product. they make such great stuff. Anyone know how many shot per fill they get?

Steelrat

Consensus seems to be 1600 or so. BTW, there have been 2 "fixes" so far.

Well, I can name several companies that do that.

At least Eclipse gives you nice packaging. Bob Long gives you a crappy photocopy of a 2k2 timmy manual with your brand new Naughty Dog or Russian Legion.

These things arent related to any other gun. Spiders? Who said spiders? rofl!! Very fast, and I havent seen one chop a ball yet. Ever.

:)

This is the only gun I would ever consider a suitable replacement for my Xmag. (note I said consider)

These things are a direct copy of the intimidator action. Bolt is linked to the double-action ram, ram hits poppet valve and closes bolt, solenoid running ram controlls dwell and thus velocity, etc etc.

Put the ego's diagram up next to an intimidator's, they're the same. Intimidators are based off of spyder actions, so the ego is a direct descendant of the spyder. Egos and Intimidators use the same theory and the same part placement.

Is that a bad thing?

I see way more intimidators out there than mags, they must be doing something right... :p

Lohman446

No... it is not a bad thing. Function people - if it functions properly it is fine. But it is similar in base theory to a spyder. I understand that in the end it is a much better gun, but to argue that it does not share some of the same base operating principles is mistaken.

Intimidators are based off of spyder actions, so the ego is a direct descendant of the spyder.

Incorrect.

The only thing that came directly from a spyder was the body (a clone).

Timmys are not based off of spyder "actions". The "actions" are based off of the defiant and bushmaster (joint development between ICD and BLAST). The defiant/bushy project was to compete against the Angel and the Shocker.

The Timmy came from combining all Bob's spare Millenium bodies (BL's spyder clone) and using the internal design they learned from developing the defiant/bushy.

Yes the "actions" in general to be similar between a spyder and Timmy, but then again, they all come from the VM68. So no, the actions are not "based" directly off a spyder.

source: http://www.thempn.com/reviews/blong/blong.html

"...The Millenium (available as a fully tricked assembled gun, or as an upgrade body for an existing Spyder) is Bob Long’s tricked vertical alternative to the Kingman Spyder..."

"...After the 98 World Cup, Bob realized that electropneumatic was the way to go in order to compete with WDP Angels and Smart Parts Shockers. Bob called up Jerry with the idea. Fortunately, Jerry had already had the same thought. Utilizing the best concepts from existing designs, the gun in production now emerged. It incorporates a ram similar to the Angel’s and the same 4-way solenoid being used in the Shocker, Jerry came out with the Bushmaster 2000 for himself and a custom signature series for Bob Long called the Defiant..."

So is it a slim ram/ram sleeve/poppet set-up like a Timmy or a ram shaft/hammer/valve set-up like a Impulse (as well as many others)?

I know some have said it's like the Timmy but then others have said it's like other guns.

Wow, I just got it, I've never held such a solid gun.

It feels so nice, so easy to handle it's unbelievable, the trigger is very adjustable and has no slack. At all.

I shot some paint through it, and I did have breaks (This paint was zero bounce paint at 2 feet up, super super super brittle stuff) I'll judge it after I get good paint.

I found it shooting very fast when it wasn't breaking, I setup the trigger and it said 18 on the LCD, and I do beleive this is legit, because I had an angel that would say I shot 24 when I was barely trying. The ego actually has real-time ROF checks. Very sweet.

It's very easy to take apart to clean (Like I said, bad paint) and the stock barrel is very nice.

Very light, very easy to handle, I just love it so far.

Playing saturday at an indoor against cartel, we'll see how it holds up.

I'll have high quality pics in a bit... gotta dig out my dad's Nikon D100 ;)
