I recently had a bogus charge on my wachovia check card and i want to make sure it is a single incedent and that no one has stolen my id. I know i have heard of ad's saying free credit report and so on, but i want to make sure i go with a reputable source. Has anyone done one of these online?

Contact the reporting companies and request one. The free ones will be the ones you get through snail mail. They have ones you can do over the net and get immediately, but that costs you.

http://www.equifax.com/ and http://www.transunion.com/ are the 2 ones I checked with.

Do what I did.
Have your info on a computer at a bank and have a jackass steal that computer.

you can get a free report from credit reporting companies, but it won't have your credit score on it
