Well after almost 3 years of loyal service, my 2k2 timmy has been laid to rest, for some well deserved time off. I was in the market for a new gun, because I thought it was time for me to try something new. I was able to buy this gun myself, because of my business, past few months have been good to me. This thing straight out rips, im glad I picked it up, cant wait for it to get field use this weekend.

Very nice. Where'd you buy it and how much was it? I want one.
I think in photos they look like pig feces, but I saw them at World Cup it was sweet looking(that was a DM4/5, but basically the same gun externally).

congrats on the new marker!! they do rip, and rip even more when you set it up to your liking. have fun with it!
but whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE TEH GRIP FRAME OFF unless you work very slowly and carefully. Protos are worse than dm4-5 when it comes to the wiring being crappy.

I got it from Paintball Gear. Yes, when I was at WC, I liked them better then the DM4/5. I am very happy, I picked it up.

Yes, I know the wiring on them sucks. I dont plan on touching anything on it, its working perfectly.

The proto has a different milling, no on/off on the gun, a single piece eye cover and is noticibly lighter. However the processor is soldered directly to the board. All in all I think its a better marker than the dm4/5.

its an ounce lighter than the dm5... that attributes to the on off alone....

the way the markers balance, the proto feels well over an ounce lighter, in dealing with weight, balance is as important than actual weight IMO, anyway, picked one up myself, really nice markers.

this is basically a cheap as possible dm5. almost the same internals, little higher operating pressure, no clamping feedneck, no dye ultralite barrel, no on-off. some people love them, others dont. still a great gun :shooting:

Congrats!!! Have one myself and love it! If you are ever in the mood remove the grip frame and make some solenoid wire extension.

I love the gun, it fits perfect with me and my playing style. I was snap shooting with it today, it just felt natural. Magman told me to get a trix well over a year ago, but I was way to poor back then.
