hi, i have lots of freinds looking to get into paintball and looking for a gun so start out with, i was wondering what you all would suggest to them, they are looking for low end electros.i mean like the BKO, SP ion mainly. what would you reccomend for them. i already recomended a mag and they want electronics so no go on that.

Spyder Imagine with a good hopper like a Halo B. Or a Tippman A5 with E-grip. BKO is not a bad choice. The Ion is yet to be proven. Unfortantely for it.. its predecessors don't have that great of a track record.

If you friends aren't used to markers / firearms, I would go with some varient of a Tippmann. They're tough as a rock.

couldnt agree more. dont go spending over $200 for a first gun..heck if they havent played yet they might not even like it that much.

i recomend a 98 custom for a starter with a revvy hopper and 47/3k thats MORE than a good enough setup for anyone.

if you guys feel you need electros than the ion or bko are worth checking out but imho your best off saving $ for a quality build gun...:cough:mag:cough:

Actually, with that tippmann, just tell them to get set up with a 98custom, a 16oz co2, and a ricochet rhino or revvy. A 98c will be almost as consistant on Co2 as with HPA, they work well.

If they have thier heart set on an electro I would go with an E99 avant. Simple gun with good firepower for the cost ( warn them of the quality issue). If they are looking at the $300 range I'd go for an omen before a BKO. there are a few Ebolt 98C markers floating around also. Personally I think the 98C players pack is the best bang for the buck hands down.

these guys have played quite a bit actually, they used my freind's and my backup guns, his trix and my mag. they both liked the trix... my freind is now selling the trix so they are wanting to buy new guns and dont want to get tippies and spyders, so i thought the ion and bko would be the best choices for them.

Make sure they are worthy of a marker before they purchase. You don't want someone who "knows" what they're doing handling an electro.
My 2 cents.

yeah me and the experienced freind were talking about him buying an ion and me buying a bko and just trying them out for ourselves too, so id kinda like to know the ups and downs you guys see on them. and thse guys are going to be buying his old revvie and my old ricochet AK and using rented HPA tanks so dont comment on hoppers or co2 or anything

I'd have them buy a good comfey mask before the blow their whole wad on a marker.

I've never had trouble with my Invision, not to mention it's confortable as heck!

I would recomend a spyder imagin or some sort of low end spyder.

spyder electros wont satisfy them if theyve used a trix! maybe a used mag and hyperframe? bko, ion, omen, raven, used imp, all sorts of stuff.

I say Impulse. You can get one used from paintballclassifieds.com with a whole lode of good stuff like a decently large nitro tank, hopper along with the gun for $500.

There's always the Diablo Wrath, "The One", or any of the other low end Timmy knock-offs too. just a thought though.

If they want an electro off the bat, that's fine, just remind them that they won't be able to lean on the firepower of the gun forever.

Why would you need a HALO on a Spyder again...?

im not partial to ions, thier good guns but i think thier ugly. BKOs are good guns too, sear trippers are lame. so what is my vote? Diablo wrath all the way (other on the poll)

they are smart enough to want t well performing marker over a good looking one, and they are probably gonna pick up some used low end electros

Have them contact centerflag about their hyperframes...then make a gun based around one of them...electro mag problem solved :-p

...i say some sort of espyder. if they like the game, upgrade them to a tboard with new barrel, n2, and an egg.

Pick up some nice stock bodied E-blades w/eyes installed, you won't be disappointed, very customizable, dependable and great factory support.

why has noone said Ion?

Its cheap, comes with eyes, and will hold its resale for a long time (if they end up not liking it).
