Ok I had 768 mb of DDR pc-2700

1x 512 Kingston PC2700 non-ECC Value Ram
1x 256 Kingston PC2700 non-ECC Value Ram

I just received my Corsair 512mb PC3200 XMS DDR ECC registered. I put it in and when I booted my computer and it just stays at Main Processor AMD Athlon XP 2100+. I reset my computer and it did the same thing. I can't even access the bios.

I then resetted my bios and started it backup.
Main Processor AMD Athlon XP 1500+
Memory Testing 524288k OK
Memory Clock DDR 200

Pressed F1 to continue the computer booted fine at those settings. I then restarted again and it stopped at Main Processor AMD xp 1500+. I resetted my bios again I then restarted it and set my processor at 2100(266). And it stopped there at the Main processor again while booting. Now the only way to get my computer to boot is to reset my bois and leave it at 1500+.

I'm lost my motherboard (Abit AT7-Max2) supports ECC and registerd ram. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this.

Are you trying to use ECC and non ECC at the same time? I suspect that's not going to work so well. You may be able to disable ECC in the BIOS.

No I'm just using the ECC. The non-ECC I sold to my friend.

Are you sure it supports registered?
did you make sure you have the newest bios? You might need to put some of the old stuff in and flas to the newest bios.

Ok now it locks up then windows is starting or when windows is loading up. I have not done anything either all I did was let it sit around for a while cause I went to go eat. :tard:

Are you sure your board supposts DDR400(PC3200)?

Yes I'm sure.

Right now I have the processor set back to 2100+ and the ram is now reading ddr 400. It's now loading to windows but it locks up after that.

Set your FSB to 200MHz, and back off on the multi a little bit. The only time that ever happens to me is when I've got mine OC'd a bit too far.

I haven't done any overclocking. Also my FSB should be at 133 since I resetted the bios. Hmm now that you say that I don't thinkI ever had my FSB higher then 133.

Oh and right now the bios lock up on me.

Oh man this is starting to get to me....

Well, it should be at 200MHz, but having it at 133 wouldn't make it lock up. Sounds like your mobo just dosn't like the ram.

This sucks, I really hope that is not the case.
