If ya'll havent visited the aka site, there is a Press Release...

--------

"Aaron K. Alexander is no longer employed by Leads Metal Products, Inc. Dan Voils is no longer a subcontractor at AKA.

AKA is still committed to serving our customer's needs. We will continue to market our remaining Excaliburs and Vikings, and all the aftermarket products you have come to expect from us. Our line of SCM's, 2-Liters, and Sidewinders is intact and we will continue to service and market them. Expect to see a new line of AKA Low Pressure products in the coming months.

.....

--------

Dan has gone over to STD and I believe Aaron has too if I'm not mistaken.

I thought they used the term STI, sexually transmitted infection?

They actually play up the name STD. I thought it was a bad idea, but oh well. It hasn't stopped me from buying their product.

Ex-AKA R&D techs + new company = good stuff

I gather that pretty much all the technical braintrust and personalities at AKA/LMP are now with STD but no one has confirmed that. Aaron is one of the smartest guys in the tech side of the industry. Dan is invaluable on the customer service/promotional side of things. I wouldn't be surprised at all if more people formerly associated with AKA jump ship to STD.

STD has the potential to be one of the rising stars in the industry. I wish all the the people involved all the best.

EDIT: NOw if they can only come up with a cocker LPR.....;)

LOL...and she'll probably give you a funny look.

From a marketing standpoint, does the name stick? Would it make people talk about the company? Would the name grab your attention? If the answer is yes to all of these questions, then it isn't so bad after all....;)
