Well that got your attention ;)

the actual question is "What was the first song you bought" Now this might be an album but in most cases it will be a song and presents do not count.

I will start it off.

My first single was "Chanson d'amour" by Manhatten Transfer.
My first album was "Out of the Blue" by ELO

I know some really sad (well they were good when you paid the cash) songs are going to come up on this list, kinda like the worse song in your collection, oh and one rule other than no presents is that no downloads count, you have to have physically owned the song.

*editted* to include first album.

My first CD was Pocket Full of Kryptonite by Spin Doctors, but I returned it and got the Black album by Metallica (I later went and bought the Spin Doctors CD anyway).

I have no clue what my first tape was. Maybe Ten by Pearl Jam or Nevermind by Nirvana, but I think I had some before that.

Ya know, that is just wrong. I am not for supporting the record companies themselves..but if you like a band enough to listen to their music, support them by buying the album.

It's not like a CD costs that much.

Well if you wanna get technical, going to shows is a better way of supporting the band than buying the CD. But yeah, my policy is, if I like the song, I download it, if I like the album, buy it. If theres two or three good songs on the album, it'll end up in my collection.

I agree 100%. I think sharing music is awesome. What really gets me is when kids take advantage of the system and download ALL of their music.
Me: Hey, what kind of music do you like?
Random inconsiderate person: Oh, I like [insert name of band here]
Me: Oh really? I like them too. What cd's do you have?
Random inconsiderate person: Oh I dont have any, I download all of my music.

I guess you dont really like the band, do you?

guh it makes me want to stab small animals.

I guess it's the american mentality.. heh

Ice Ice Baby
Ice Ice Baby
All right stop
Collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Then I flow that a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop?
Yo--I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.

Metallica self titled, i.e. the Black Album. I was too young to know about their older stuff at the time. Load was still a ways off..
