I have a "new" style CP reg on my cocker. Just got it in a trade and really know nothing about it.

It has a screw in the side that is used to change the velocity. I am guessing that they come available in a LP and HP version. The reason I say this is that the one I have is turned all the way up, just short of the screw falling out and barely gets the velocity high enough. Any adjustment in causes the velocity to drop way off.

I don't have a guage so I don't know what its running at. Does anyone know the range of pressure on the "supposed" LP version, assuming thats what it is. Is there an infosheet on the reg somewhere?

Thanks

im guessing it would go from 0-500 and im not sure if there are an lp or hp, i think they have just one version. Whatever version it is i think it goes from 0-500 about.

Its one reg.. its adjusts from 0-700... out put soley depends on input of tank...

IE HP tank = max 700 PSI out put , LP Tank = 400 psi max out put..

Adjust your springs not your reg :)

Even an "LP" version should work fine for a cocker. My Shocktech cocker is a very conservative 250psi (with the new Shocktech reg, same as CP). Can I assume you've tried sweetspotting the reg by turning it down all the way and then working your way up?

Adjust the springs and IVG.

Yes , tried that first. (sweetspotting) When I barely bump down on the reg it goes right down to 240-250FPS. I turned in the IVG quite a bit to get it to bump up the velocity w/o the reg being maxxed.

I have found that its working much better on my HP tank. Its shooting over 300FPS using that tank and the same adjustments. I guess its a good thing I have both tanks....I really hate finding the right springs for a cocker, it takes so many steps and all.....(and I'm lazy  )

CP makes two different regs pressures, 0-250 and 100-500 psi. Input pressure doesn't effect the output pressure very much if at all if it's working correctly. You can get a HP piston that will allow your current reg to work at the pressure that you need it to (around 400 for most cockers)
