OK i have x-valve/lvl10/ult. now when i shoot my mag it shoots ok without paint but,it still doesnt always recock. then when i put paint in it it shoots okay for 10 or less shots then doesnt recock or sorta recocks really slow.

i have put shims in from 3-5 with the short spring and get this result^
if i put the red spring in with 5 or 4 shims it wont shoot at all.

what is the problem mabey i cant find the right combo of shim to spring???????

If you're using an ASA with On/Off knob make sure you have the knob turned "on" pretty good. Sometimes On/Offs won't let a good flow of air through if you don't turn them enough.

adjusting the velocity nut in about an eighth of a turn. I know that with my ULT the trigger wouldn't always reset propperly if the valve pressuer was too low.

tighten the field strip screw with an allen wrench... just tighter than hand tight will suffice...

i only have 2 shims in with the red spring....and the carrier with only 1 notch in it...i have 5 shims on my ULT...and this is a sweet setup...the trigger pull is only about 1/8" and it really is pretty sweet. the output pressure on my tank is 850psi. with the way i have that set-up, the level 10 bolt doesnt "chop" a straw...it is beautiful. hope this helps, any more questions feel free to ask

You can use a dental pick, but you don't need one. I use the .050" or the 1/16" Allen wrench. anything that is small enough to get in there that has a bend. You could probably use a paperclip. Jus be careful not to damage the o-ring unless you want to replace it.

As to which carrier to use: use the largest one that doesn't leak.
