Was thinking of getting an xvalve and wondering if the valve itself can be annodized?

Thanks!

Yes

BUT it might not work when you are done

The valve tolerances are very critical, and stripping and reannoing it will likely throw them off and effect function (or lack thereof)

All X-Valves are annodized when you buy them from AGD. Just pick a color...

Wait, so would it be possible to get a raw X-Valve from AGD?

They only have like 3 colors...

Anyways, yeah, I wonder if you can get a raw one. Not worth risking the dough on something that might not work when finished =(

Thanks for the replies!

4 colors including black, sorry.

All that's available are black, blue, red, purple. None of which I am interested in.

I'll probably just go with a black one I guess :)

It would be nice to have the option of un-annoed valves so you can get your own done to match the gun.

I know Tuna has raw valves, but you have to buy a Tunamax in order to get one.

Well I 've always looked to get my X-Valve anno'd clear, but I definately don't want to take the risk of having skewed tolerances. AGD should have a limited run of clear X-Valves. ;)

Talk to tunaman here on AO, he can anno your entire gun with the valve to match, he has done it on a few guns I've seen.

If you want a valve annoed, talk to someone who knows the tolerances and has had success before (even starting with raw) such as Tuna. Recall with X-mags how often batches got stuck at anno as TK was not happy with tolerances.. and this wasnt even the valves. I expect, if you take a valve to someone and just have it annoed.. that it probably will not work. As demonstrated by Tuna.... sometimes one can find annodizers with enough attention to detail to make it work, however most are not...

The only problem is that I live near a place where I get solid color anno's for really cheap.

Tuna is the only dealer that can custom ano valves, and those valves are only available as new Tunavalves...

Forget trying to re-ano your old X-valve, as I can't remember but one or two people who ever had theirs work again after stripping and re-ano...
