So my friends and I can get a single color anno for extremely cheap at a place nearby. I want to anno my ULE body, Unimount core, UL tip(when I get it), CP gas through, RPG snatch grip and Viperblade(when I get them). The problem is I know there's a retaining clip in the ULE body.
1. Will this affect the anodization process?
2. Can a ULE body be anodized with the retaining clip still in?
3. Can anodizing the body affect tolerances like it affects a Mag valve's tolerances?
4. And finally, what color to get?

1) Yes, it must come out.

2) Generally speaking, no.Leaving it in,even masked, is a risk IMO.

3) Yes, it sure can. It's mostly the stripping process that does the most damage,if any.

4) Dayglow Yellow? ? I don't know, try a color you like. :D

So, in your opinion is it worth taking the risk to strip and re-anno a ULE body?

also, isn't there someone(Tunaman comes to mind) besides AGD who can take out the retaining clip? What does the clip actually do anyways? Just give the body rigidity?

The Clip comes out pretty easy,it's not that big a deal.

And, if your using an experienced Ano guy, sure...I would worry about it to much.

Heh... so how do you take out this clip and where is it located?

By the way... thanks for answering all those questions.

inside from the back of the valve, its a ring and a retainer clip holding it inplace.(pop it out ffrom underneath?)

It's actually a c-clip and it's holding in the steel bolt spring support/ring.

Alright, I finally got it out, and I also got my feedneck off... at the cost of my anno... Now I'm pretty much forced to re anno... I think I'll get the stuff anno'd red so they're all matching... and have no scratches....

Edit- I decided that's a stupid idea... What about pink?

Normal anno prices are around 100-150$ for single colors. Here I'm able to do a single color anno for 25$. They don't do fades. Only single colors.

They don't have a site. It's just a local place. It's actually a deal that we struck up with this place a while ago.
