Here is a scanned picture by me of todays, Tuesday 22 of March, newspaper front cover. Somebody made a stupid mistake.

Kiss that teacher goodbye...

That was a dumb mistake, unfortunately I think the blame will fall on the wrong shoulders, it usually does.

I dont think that was a school paper - I think that was a professional one.. wow, how did they make that mistake?

I think so too, unfortunately I think that someone is going to get the teacher fired for introducing guns into a school setting or some such nonsense, had that paper not been printed that way it would be a much more remote possibility.

THe caption right below the picture says, and I quote, "Lakeview students _name_, left, _name_, _name_ and _name, imitated a farm sprayer during the "hooray for Farm Machines" program. THeir performance was part of Lakeview's annual program and was a collaborated by the art, music and physical education teachers. Students in kindergarten through second grade were originally scheduled to perform Friday, but the winter storm spostponed the event until Monday, where students performed to a standing-room only crowd at both shows."

I guess I don't get it.

Is it cause the kids have water pistols? I honestly don't see whats wrong. If they are imitating farm sprayers whats the big deal?

Ok school shooting- kindergartners with squirt pistols I can kinda see that, but I don't see that it is really anything to get worked up about.

there are strict rules in our towns elementary schools about no weapons, fake, real, or play weapons. bringing one could get you in a lot of trouble.

Reminds me of the conversation I have with my 6 year old son EVERY time we go into a toy store

Nathen: "mumma, can i have this gun today?"
me: "Nathen you know the rules"
Nathen: "i know mumma"
me: "tell me them, who are guns and weapons for?"
Nathen: "responcible people"
me: "and are you responcible?"
Nathen; "no mumma, i not responcible yet, but when I am old like you or uncle can I have a gun?"
me: "oh look barbie has a new outfit, look shes a doctor now  "

personally i would have gotten very very upset if my childs teacher allowed something of that sort, you never know what each parent allows and treading the line like that is not safe...
