air tool oil should be fine.

i wouldn't use it if its in a aerosol can though.

inconsistent velocity indicates that the seal between the two halves of the valve is dirty or messed up.
if you took the valve apart into two halves, that could have done it. supposedly your not supposed to.
try cleaning that seal, and oiling it, then putting it back. if that still doesn't work, replace it.

go to your local hobby shack and buy some "Shock oil" either 10wt or 20wt. Team Associated makes some good silicone oil. Its a pure 100% silicone oil that works great that is very thin and very very slippery! First thing i did was drop it into my ULT and noticed a lighter snappier pull. Best bang for the buck i ever did and it only cost me 3.50$ for a good sized bottle.

when you put the oil in and aired it up did you dry fire it 20 or so times without the barrel on? if not, you may have gotten some excess oil in the barrel which would cause the balls to curve.

To ask another question, what is the best way to oil my Tac-One? I read in this post you were not supposed to oil the insides/valve? I use gold cup and just drop some in the airline and fire several shots to get it worked through. Any other ideas or ways to oil.

I also have had some flucations in FPS, but have only fired around 2000 rounds through the gun (if that much), so I thought it might be the breakin period. Thanks for any help

oiling the insides will not hurt anything. prior to playing, i always put 3-4 drops of oil is the macro fitting on the valve then i would take off the barrel and dry fire around 20 shots. i did this religiously and didn't have to change an o-ring for over 2 years. mags love oil, just try not to get any in the barrel. this is just my experience.

exactly what he said. My oiling rituals consist of

2 drops in the macro line
2 drops on the bolt stem
a drop or two on the bolt
pull out my on/off ULT or stock assembly and drop a few more in there.

again im using 100% silicone oil which is a very thin slippery oil. I suggest you try this and it works wonders.

1 drop on the bolt stem
1 drop on the power tube
2 drops down the power tube
1 drop on my on/off
1 drop between the two halves of my valve
and lost but not least....
4 drops in the macro fitting on my valve

Yes, I had the experience of leaving my barrel on while cycling oil through, and its not good having that layer of oil down your barrel.

Dry fire the gun without the barrel on ...

It's that simple.

Anyone use Milspec 25 oil? It's a gun oil, but so far so good :)
