It'd be easier with a white background, but I'll have a try.

EDIT: bah, I'm no good at photoshopness.

Glickman - nooo not powdercoating, that's for people who hate their guns! :cuss: You mean ANODIZE ;)

Head knight of Ni - I think it beats the stock body for sure.

What's this, a matchin frame you say? Sounds very interesting, but wouldn't this body kit on an Ion be worth as much as a Shocker?

noo i meant is there anything different in the gun?

Yes. A good powdercoating place can do fades.

One can hope. But the body shown is only polished. Deadlywind would have to clear up the cost of a anno'd body.

Not, that I'd particularly care of course. I'd rather spend 100$ on paint or play before getting a cosmetic part.

For some reason I don't subscribe to the general paintball mania that changing the colour is an "upgrade". I'm funny that way. :p

So, how do you market a cosmetic change that increases the weight when for the longest while needlessly changing parts to lose a couple of ounces was all the rage?

People will buy it. As it is I am sick of looking around and seeing 62 markers at the field that are identical to mine. Need to put some stickers on the ion or something.... But I like flat black, I just don't like fitting in that much

Why doesnt deadlywind make this body for the automag?? I think it looks awesome and im sure people would love the sleek design.

Nice. But the point of the plastic body shells was that it was cheap. Replacement bodies are MSRP $29.95
The whole point of the Ion is something everybody in the pb world is missing! It's built to be inexpensive. Reason it's powdercoated is because anno cost alot, for example.

minimag03
04-15-2005, 03:11 PM
Do you think DL could pull of a new trigger frame and vert ASA for it too? If they keep it cheap then they would sell like wildfire.

While it doesn't line up along the body rail, it should be easy enough with CAD software to adapt this body to a mag rail. Once you get the body off of the ION, it really starts looking like a mag...

That is the stock feedneck... Tall and not a clamper... there are options though:
Pretty much any barrel or feedneck for an Impulse will fit. There is even a SP Freak Kit that is painted flat black to match the gun...

Ion = money pit

IMO, I think it's best to keep an ion close to stock form. Barrel, feedneck, trigger. Aside from that, if you keep putting money into it you really could have just bought another gun that has everything you want. If you tell me that's not possible, yeah it is, buy used.

how much would you sell those anno'd bodies for?

nicad

Won't know for sure untill closer to relase date (mid May).
Projected to be anywhere from $100 - $125.
Unanodized option will be somewhat cheaper.

will they be able to be dusted like the rest of the ion bodies? Since the pics about 4 replies above look like they're polished.

I was wondering if we were close enough that you have announced what your release date is going to be?

Also, been playing a bit with making bodies from cast resin and plastic. What I really need is a good rail... What if you cut off all but the bottom 1/8-1/4" since you already have the design down in your body? Could you make that? And if so, how much would it cost? LOL, btw, I liked the extra little "ULE" cutout in the rail section on your body!

Thanks,
Rob

We have sample bodies out to anodizers at this time. Depending on what we end up liking for color and quality, as well as cost, will determine what we will offer and for how much (trying to keep it as low cost as possible for yall). This is pushing release date back a little bit, but should still be this month sometime. :)
At one time I over-quoted the price to be up to $130.. I can now say that it will range from $99 - $110 depending on these last parameters.

Have to admit that with that body I am liking the ION more.
