I have an old 68 mag and a newer X. What oil do you use in your gun? Where did you get your oil? I'm assuming synthetic is better? How often do you oil your gun? If you haven't played in a while, how often should you oil it up again?

I used Autolube. I'm sure they have it one AGD's website.

i use autolube too, and usually i lube my gun after every game or so, unless i only fire like 200 shots.

I have Autolube and PMI, both work great. I oil my gun only when I remember, which isn't very often. Luckily I don't use my gun that much. Anyway it is a bad habit to get into, so make sure you oil before each time you play.

like everyone so far i use AGD's Autolube... but i also use goldcup, and i just drop like 3 drps in the fitting connected to my valve (it's a macro line so i can just unhook it) at the beginning of each day of play, fire a couple of blanks rounds into a towle w/o the barrel to let the oil go through everything, lubes all the orings and stuff, keeps her running like a dream. :shooting:

KC makes great lube.

And it isn't harmful if you accidentally ingest it. When you're at the field, you usually cannot wash your hands easily after working on a gun, and I like the fact that I can swallow my fingers without ingesting bad stuff.

i have been using dye slick lube so far this year and no problems yet. dye recommends to reapply after evey 10000 shots so it should do fine :shooting:

I bought a quart of pneumatic tool oil from Home Depot like 4 years ago, I'll never run out.

It was like $4 and will last me forever, and it works great.

If you wanna keep payng $4 for 2 ounces, go ahead, but this stuff will save you a bundle in the long run.

I'm assuming synthetic is better?

It's not just better, it's critical. You CANNOT use petrolium based oil in your Mag (or any other marker for that matter). If you don't you synthetic oil it will eat your o-rings.

KC for me.

The extra $2 is worth it to protect what I've got invested in my gun. If you've spent hundreds on a gun it's foolish to cut corners on the oil you put in it. Plus, it's not like you're using a bottle a week. One bottle should last a long time.

If a mod thinks this is too close to BST material, please let me know and I'll edit / delete this.

I recently bought quite a bit of Super-Lube air tool oil, since I thought at the time it was the stuff needed for Freestyle Pros... I recently came to find out that I need the multipurpose stuff, not the air tool kind. So, now I'm stuck with a few pints of this stuff... if anyone is interested, let me know.

Having said that, I've used Gold Cup on my mag... still leaking though =\ Stupid o-rings...
