I screwed my crossfire HP tank onto mine when I got it and shot fine. So have a number of other people, the reg should handle it.

TAF yes but read the manual it has you back the reg all the way down. MAG88888 expect about 1100 but why so high?? Thats about the max input. I run mine about 170 & 180 seems to be the standard. Make sure & crono at 200. Might be a bit hot.

My Ion will shoot around 600 rounds on a 68/3000 and still have aroubd 700psi left in the tank. Hope that helps a little with a ball park.

I would think you would run the risk of starving the reg with that little difference. I have no clue on shots per fill, never tried. its not super efficient, nor is it horrible. I carry a hopper and three pods with a 68/45 so efficiency would have to be extremely bad for me to notice.

Yes. In fact, SP recommends an HP tank to keep up with recharge rates.

Yes, as Warped1 says, run a HP tank on it. Itll be fine. When you first get the Ion. Turn the reg down some just to be sure that it isnt set too high BEFORE you put your gas on the gun. This will save risking a noid overpressure.

I recommend putting a QEV in. I just did it today. It will get better efficiency. I have yet to see the efficiency yet as its too early. Some say ~ 400 shots per 1000psi tank fill. So from a 4500 thats around 1600-1800 shots approximately. I recommend getting a Clippard QEV and quick disconnect for it. That way you dont have to cut your composite body to install. Its very simple to do. When you install a QEV, you can turn your dwell down. I turned mine down from 16ms to 10ms. I may be able to go a bit lower, but I have to get to a chrono first. Remember, one blink on the dwell = .25 ms. So 4 blinks = 1 ms. Stock, mine was set at 52 blinks. That is 52/4 = 13 + 3 = 16ms. The lowest setting is 3ms. So when your board is bottomed out that is 3 ms dwell.

Go for a QEV man, its only 20 bucks w/ the Quickdisconnect, or 10 w/o it. Well worth it. It pays for itself in efficiency in just a couple outtings to the field.
