What is stopping Rogue and AGD themselves from cutting of the "extra" 3/4 inch of the ULE body that comes out before the threads? What about the 3/4 inch of rail thats under that extra body? Heres a picture for reference
http://www.themagsmith.com/cgi-bin/index2.cgi?product=dwkarta.cgi

wouldnt this mag look alot better if its foregrip was closer to the tirgger guard and the extra rail was chopped off?

Tell me what you think!

I second that motion....I concur...I agree...yes...

I love the way my mag performs and have been thinkin bout upgrading to a devil mag and honestly semi-thrilled with the look of it. The DW Karta body is sick and compact as Arson has pointed out. Don't get me wrong, I have a ule custom and love the rugged look and feel but for me a hi powered electro should be sleek and sexy.

Thats my $0.02

Dallara body anyone?

http://www.deadlywind.com/images/bodies/dallara/dallara_cutout2_400w.gif

Depends on who you talk to....some say yes, others no. I for one like being able to get my whole hand around the foregrip. That is something you cant do with the foregrip next to the trigger guard.

As for wanting a shorter rail, thats an easy one....buy an Automag/MiniMag rail.

We all know how those fit current RT/E mags, people shouldnt have to buy obsolete guns to get a good vertical adaptor position. The Dallara is nice and all but why isnt the ULE built to the same ideal? Sure some would like to put their hands around the forgrip/reg, but may i put forward this observation: Almost every marker that is mainstream has its forgrip very close to the triggerguard, most to the point where one cannot put ones hand around it.

edit:and mainstream is what the mag needs! pss: plz make an ultra compact body and rail i would buy it :D :bounce:

I agree completly.

I have cut them flush to the front of the grip frame for people. ;)

with the karta body u just posted there are adjustable foregrip slots so you can customize it to your needs.

I own a nice splinter rail and exile body(very good products), on my emag, I was considering upgrading it to a devil mag, but even with the foregrip moved all the way back close to the trigger guard its body and rail would still protrude akwardly froward.

but anyways seriously look at those guns you listed again! their foregrips are closer to the guard than you describe

the matrix's reg is tighter than any other gun listed (http://images.actionvillage.com/inc/images/large/010-104-0015.jpg?cell=500,450&cvt=jpg)
although the original 2k2 timmys were long and had an inch between the guard and the foregrip things have changed (http://images.actionvillage.com/inc/images/large/010-200-0064.jpg?cell=500,450&cvt=jpg)
the nerve/impulse have always had a good amount of space

http://images.actionvillage.com/inc/images/large/010-137-0003.jpg?cell=500,450&cvt=jpg
but its close relatvie the ICD guns have closed the gap rapidly in recent designs

Although the cockers grip is close, i cannot say it has a super compact body (http://images.actionvillage.com/inc/images/large/010-189-0026.jpg?cell=500,450&cvt=jpg)

*sniff*sniff*sniff I smell a market trend

I agree that it would be neat to see a mag with the body cut as far back as possible. Just up to the threads. The lightest and shortest mag ever would be one with a ULE body chopped off in front of the threads and a new logic alpha rail. Anyone wanna do it?

I agree with rogue. If you chop the front of the ULE body off at the threads you lose any sort of styling it has. Then it really does look more like a plain tube. But I do like my forgrip up close to the trigger.

You could always have your slot in your rail milled longer to bring your grip back more, real simple and shouldn't cost ya much.

I always liked the look of the ULE body on a classic (or classic-sized) rail...
