How many shots from a 45/4500 tank can you get with an Automag with an x-valve? Also how many shots with a standard automag, no x-valve?

Only can say that my 68 classic (yes it is old....) is a little more efficient than my X valve with LX on it. That is the way it seems anyways.

^prolly because your classic had lvl7 which is more efficient.

with level 10 its less

you get more shoots with level 7

and if you shoot with paint you save more air than dry fireing

i think that you may get more shoots though a minimag valve cuse it dosent recharge as fast as a rt soo if you have a addjustibal tank you can set the input psi lower and save more shoots

i had a 68 3000 and it was nice and light but it wasent good for long games

soo if you shoots alot get a bigger tank

really im thinking in getting an other flatline 45 4500 or 68 4500 for my mech mag for lightness cuse i have a 90 4500 for my e-mag and its huge but its still preaty light

i get about 2/2.5 bags with mabey 1 and half fills with the 90ci

So the stock valve gets more shots than the x-valve. Anybody with a 45/4500 counted actually how many shots they get with the either valve. I have an air system with no bottle so I am debating on what size bottle to get.

i am playing this weekend with my emag(xvalved) and 45/45 flatline tank, i estimate that i will get around 500 shots off of a 3000 psi fill, so that should get you a little bit over 800 shots on a 4500 psi fill. i'll let you know what my actual shot count per fill was after this saturday is this thread catches my attention again.

I must respectfully disagree. I shoot a hyper mag with 45/45 and play 7 man. yes I refill before every game and have never ran out. Usually never get 4500 fills but I get around the 600-700 range. I usually only carry 2-3 pods anyway. More depends on whether your equipment matches your style. If your not the guy breaking games open then more would be better. Hard to shoot 800 rounds from the snake.

:tard:

Interesting, I wounder how the gun knows that it should "waste" more air when it's not shooting paint?

On non dump chamber markers I could see that since the ball provides blockage to the air flow...

thank you

and trust me i tried it before

i did loose air faster from dry firering than shooting with paint

plus if you shoot faster you get less shots than with slow rate of fire

So if I stuck a battle swab in my barrel deep to just where the bolt tip would reach, I would get more shots per tank?

Also, do mean your theory doesn't apply to mags (dump chamber design with a FIXED volume of air)?

Shouldn't apply to mags since the chamber is entirely shut off before paint gets shot out, hence why I specified non dump chamber markers.

Easy way to show the theory, take a straw and the straw wrapper, stuff the straw wrapper into the straw and blow. No take out the wrapper (if it didnt shoot out the other end) and blow. Which is easier?

Although it will effect stock shockers, and other spool valves that dont full close the chamber before air hits the ball.

I'm not sure if it applies to to the mag, but it deff. applis to pin valve guns.
