Very nice. I still think someone needs to make an aftermarket trigger/asa for these things.

man, you beat me to this. stupid work.

anyways, from the looks of it, your going to be able to remove the bolt from the back. Nicad, can you confirm/deny?

Isn't the whole point behind the Ion is a gun with decent performance at a bargain price? Therefore, purchasing expensive aftermarket bodies kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

In all honesty, the body looks good. Ions just don't do much for me.

'Nuff saidIsn't that what the whole point of paintballs become? It all started with the Autococker. Before that even barrels were fixed and not removeable!

These AO guys refuse to see a good marker because two things. They're still the only ones mainly who hold a grudge against SP for thier boneheaded legal move, and that AGD didn't come up with the quality $300 marker reliable marker first!

I'm waiting for someone to come out with one of these for an ION:

Of course if you start with a base marker that is good, but costs a fraction of comparable markers, you can customize and still save on overall costs. Yes, folks love to customize their markers. And folks love to customize their cars as well. Maybe the ION could be considered the paintball world’s Mustang?

Wouldn't civic be more appropriate? :p

There are a few people who already make aftermarket parts for the ION. New Designz, I think CP and some random people on pbnation (THEBETTERONE) make triggers for it, and I'm sure there are a bunch of other stuff that people have made for it already. The ION is a decent gun for the price but I bet a lot of people will like the fact that you can get this body compaired to that composite body. Now it makes it feel almost like a real marker.

Eh, that thing goes nowhere near my ION. Sorry nicad, just doesnt do t for me, makes it appear bulky and unweildly. Now a karta or dallara...

incorrect. the idea of the ion was to be a cheaper marker that can be upgraded to a more high end marker. like what everyone did with impulses, but smaller, lighter, beem break ect ect ect....

Um, when you do get it upgraded with a body, you could have had a nice shocker. That's the point everyone is trying to get across.

285+150 = 435. I havent seen any vision shockers w/ BB eyes for 435.

And ya, most ppl buy a high end gun like 600+ and end up slapping over a hundred in ups anyway. The Ion just gives you a lower starting point.

CP triggers are great. Just got one this weekend. They feel extremely nice compared to the stock trigger.

Kudos to nicad for the body, but I just dont dig it all that much either. Thats me though. Why would anyone listen to me. :p

I dont know about that one. The reason is cause the Ion frame is one whole piece. Its got the ASA and everything connected. Im sure it may be done, but I dont know if there is a huge market for vert frames in the Ion community. Who knows I may be wrong.

I personally like 45s better than 90s anyway.

Oh.

I was expecting the aftermarket bodies to be a little under what karta bodies cost.

BTW, has anyone tried out the New Designz trigger? I've been looking at the two, CP and ND, and the New Designz one looks like it's a lot more adjustable.

pyro - he was talking about the 90 deg trigger frame. Not the shocker body. Why would anyone make a shocker style body for the Ion? I dont see the point in that.

Boydster. I havent used the NDZ trigger. It is a bit more vertical than the CP one. It does have more adjustment points, but I dont see an adjustable magnetic return. All it has is 2 removable magnets to adjust the tension. Im really not sure how stiff it is. The CP is adjustable w/ only a back stop, and the grub screw in the frame of the Ion for the forward travel. But, its got an adjustable magnetic return so you can set it as light or stiff as you want. I like the feel of it too. Its a bit easier to walk w/ the trigger bottom being a bit curved' outward. Plus it is available in DUST black which flows very well w/ the guns frame. Perfect match. It def. looks like it belongs there.

Heres pics of mine. Not trying to hijack a thread or anything. I think weve all seen the Foehn body a lot so.....

Sorry guys been out of town last few days,

The snatch grip is just to see what it would look like- will not be included with the body, is entirely up to owner, and is only showing that one CAN be used. :)

All the bodies are out to anodizers- will be gloss blue, red, and black. Tail plugs will all be black

They tell me they will be done around Friday the 27th.

Price is looking good around $99 + ship.

The bolt IS NOT removable from the back- you CAN remove the back "plug" and see/touch/taste/smell/(not hear) the tail end of the bolt as it would then be exposed. As someone pointed out, to make the bolt removable from the back w/o body removal, would require replacing the back fire tube and air ring with modified ones.. something we are not going to do right now.

out!

Last I heard was 14,000 on backorder, just SP was getting 1500 new Ion orders a day.
Big money for DW! He's got to advertise big though! All the magazines etcetera........................

I have to say that this body REALY makes a difference on the overall look of the ION.
I don't have a weight yet, but ON GUN you do NOT notice a difference.

One thing I have noticed though...I am ALOT more careful with the alum body.
I did not care what happened to the plastic one...I care about the alum one.;)

5.3 oz is what the body weighs. And I have got to say that the description they have is absolutely genious.

it is aerodynamically designed for a low coefficient of friction to help you move faster on the field.

haha, just wait we'll be hearing about this from the kids before long. Great description, and awesome looking bodies DW

the same reason companys sell the Cobra logo's for a ford mustang.
the same reason people build "clone" cars ('70's chevelle with a 350 in it with SS454 badges on it)
keeps you wondering.
